Green drop in filter.
Hi everyone, I have ZLE, was going to do an intake but changed my mind. Looking just to do a drop in filter. Not a whole a lot of options for ZL1.Came across Green Filter, never heard of them, seen them or seen anyone using them. Here is the link, is this a good option, anyone shed some light?

Using the same.
I heard it's similiar to the K&N drop in filter, just a bit better manufactured. Callaway used the green filters on their models

Any issues? I am little hesitant because it is oiled.

Should be no issue running an oiled filter. Over the years I have run them(K&N) in two of the Camaros I used to own and no problems. The RotoFab intake in my ZL1 has an oiled filter and it good to go.

nop, works without problems.
Meanwhile mine is basically dry, running the same filter since 6 years. Cleaning it with air pressure each year. Problems with oil usually occur, when you add oil and use too much. If you buy these filters new, there is just as much oil as needed.

I ran a Green drop-in filter in my previous ZL1 and now run one in my CT5-V Blackwing.
Never had any problems. You probably won’t notice any difference between the paper OEM and the Green. I did remove the rain/snow blocker on my ZL1 which provides a more direct path for the air to enter the stock air box. Removal doesn’t provide any more boost but it seemed to build boost a little faster which gave my ZL1 a little more grunt in the lower rpms. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=20

Check the performance of that filter before you get it. Oiled filters are not great at filtering. The stock filter is best.

The Green air filter is a great part! On our Project Shocker, the stock airbox managed to supply enough airflow to make 697whp & 715tq with supporting modifications and it also helped keep MATs cooler than my ZLE using the RotoFab which breathes air from under the hood and the fenderwell areas.
Here is a video test comparing the RotoFab to the Stock airbox and Green Filter. |

Does it add any more intake noise?
