WOW ! I did not know this. I've flashed as many a (4) when I was having remote tune done. I find that troubling since I know guys that go to "Tune and Test" days at our local drag strip and write modified tunes for the duration of their day at the track. But, maybe they will end up getting an unpleasant surprise ?

Ha I've flashed some cars that are test mules many hundreds of times without an issue. Maybe if you get into the 10s of thousands range, but I don't see anything happening otherwise. It also helps that you are flashing the calibration changes instead of a write entire.

That's good to hear from a professional I'm just a bit paranoid, having seen several areas where GM decided to save a few bucks, this would definitely fit the pattern. The chips themselves that they use must be prehistoric, the programming models they show in their SDKs are easily 10+ years behind the state of the art. (I'm a software developer.)

I flashed my old ZL1 over a thousand times with no issues while I was learning and experimenting. No ill effects. This one probably has 200 so far

For what it's worth this is from multiple sources, including HPTuners support: "The ECM can be written an unlimited amount of times"

All flash chips for anything have a finite life. But its ridiculously high in anything built in the last 10 years that there is no reason to worry. The car will be in the scrap heap by the time you have an issue.

If it was in a secure garage, think they have cameras? Maybe that'll help. I also wonder if there's video of anyone scoping your car out prior to. Doubt there's much you can do with it but I'd ask just in case.

Well, I picked up a 19 Z06 a few days ago, it's getting an IGLA installed in the AM so this one can't be stolen. Thanks for all the advice over the years!

Nice car, however I don't believe you ever answered my question, did your Camaro have any anti-theft deterrents installed and if so, what? This information could help the Camaro Community immensely as if you had several things installed and they thwarted them, we would now know they aren't potentially effective... Any info you can provide would be extremely valuable to the rest of us with 6th Gen Camaro's that we'd potentially like to keep...
