After much thought and your guys' feedback, I'm leaning towards a c7 z06. I know some of you guys have had one, or do have one currently so I'm wondering what year did they fix the cooling issues? Also is the low side on these more robust than the Zl1? I plan on building this similar to my zl1 with e/headers, then eventually adding boost with porting/pulleys. Just curious on anything to look out for with these. As always, thanks in advance!

The 2019 C7Z06 is when they added some ZR1 upgrades.
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1601398284 I had a 2019 C7Z06 and it was definitely a fun car. The only thing I miss is being able to buy an Akrapovic Titanium exhaust. Other than that, I feel that the Corvette didn't give as much confidence as a stock manual transmission (I switched to MGW which was amazing), and adding power. The weight of the car and width of tires made the car wobble a lot on even small cracks in the road. The power adders really made the car tail happy as well even with Toyo R888R's. 2 1/2 months ago I bought a new 2023 Challenger Hellcat with 290 miles on it. I am a big guy so my ZL1 is a bit tight for me. The Hellcat is a lot more comfortable and rides better. The prices of these have dropped a lot in the last 2 years since they stopped building them. There are still quite a few new Hellcats sitting on dealer lots throughout the country. If you spend some time looking around you can find them for $15-20k below MSRP. MSRP on mine was $86,135. After all fees, taxes and delivery cost, I paid $65,891. Dodge advertises them to have 717 hp at 6000 rpm but they actually have 745 at 6200 rpm.

I know the HC has a lot more power, but they also have a lot of traction issues on the street. Which car do you feel is quicker on the street with just sticky street tires, the HC or ZL1 ? I've heard the HC isn't really much quicker than a Scat Pack on the street due to their traction issues, light to light, 1/8th mile type of stuff.

Wow I've never heard that about a 6th gen Camaro, never mind a ZL1. I would have expected the exact opposite of that. I've never had my SS over 130, even with the factory run flats it felt pretty stable though. It seems you prefer the overall package of a Hellcat over the ZL1 ?

I had my 2SS up in this speed range, and it was rock solid, I didn't feel any lightness in the front. It's unlikely that the ZL1 would be worse than my modded 2SS that has a 1LE front splitter with side skirts and a simple diffuser, but sits higher off the ground.
Granted, the ZL1 1LE has more front aero, but it had no problem doing 160-170 on the Nürburgring when Bill Wise set the Camaro record.

It may be the crappy summer only factory tires that made the ZL1 feel the way it did. I did take the Camaro on a nice mountain trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway last year and had a blast with it. The Camaro definitely out handles the Challenger on the winding mountain roads.

The Corvette’s stock shifter also has a longer throw and MGW luckily made a short throw shifter for it to make it better. On top of that, adding more power to a light car can make driving a lot harder. The main point is that the driving characteristics of the Z06 and the ZL1 is different even though they have the same power plant. I feel more confident in the ZL1 and having been apart of the corvette forums in the past, I know a lot more people feel the same way. |

Tune with HP Tuners to prevent theft? I was playing around with these settings this past summer and noticed it appears I can limit the rpm of the car with these settings. My idea, it that truly what I remember. I could flash a tune where these numbers basically won't left the car run, or go over 700 rpm say for example. Preventing my car from being driven away? Any thoughts on this?
Basically the idea would be to flash my current/really tune when I go drive the car and flash this alternate tune when I don't want the car to be driven? Thanks

I had mine up to 162mph on the freeway during a remote tune session with Andrew at CSP Racing. It was solid as a rock! It felt so smooth it was like I was driving on a glass surface. I did have Nitto R555R2's on it at the time. But man was it smooth.
