HMI Module missing from under the glove box

Does anybody know why the HMI Module is not under the glove box as it says in the service manual?

The car is a 2017 1LT if that makes any difference.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi still work as normal.

As you probably already know, the big silver module in your pic is the Peripheral HMI Control Module, and the HMI Control Module is shown sitting next to it in the big Multiuse Bracket in the service manual diagram (but not in your pic). No idea why the HMI isn't there per the service manual. However, in my 2019 1SS 1LE there also was no HMI but there was a Peripheral HMI. I have to assume that the HMI isn't needed on relatively low-optioned cars like ours? It would be interesting to see if a 2SS had an HMI.

My 2018 2SS definitely has an HMI module. It's a smaller black box that I found in the expected location indicated by the diagram above when I had to splice in a wire for the RGB footwell lighting kit.

In a nutshell, it takes in your inputs from your Infotainment and Nav screens and digitizes them into control signals. IOW, it's the part that turns your finger touches into digital instructions for those systems. Maybe it isn't needed unless the car came with a Nav system.

It's located in the passenger footwell area, towards the fender. Here is a how-to on replacing it:

Luan, that shows you replacing the X1 Radio module, not the HMI module. They are two different things. Although that makes me wonder if the Camaro somehow combined the main HMI into the Radio module for at least some modules, since your car also only has the Peripheral HMI module in the Multiuse bracket and since the nav upgrades obviously take place in the Radio module.

ETA: Just answered my own (and the OP's, I think) question by reading White Automotive's page on their "IOS-to-IOU Navigation Upgrade.". The explanation is that unlike the models that have a separate HMI in the multiuse bracket and a Radio module to the right side of the glovebox, many (all?) of our cars have a Center Stack Module (CSM) that goes where the Radio module went. So yeah, it basically combines the HMI and Radio modules into one module.

Not that your video isn't interesting, Luan! I didn't know this service of upgrading the Radio module was available. And to my knowledge you're the only one with a video of removing a Radio module from a 2019+ Camaro, which is a bit different (and easier it appears) than in the earlier Camaros.

Yeah, that's probably it.
