Why are brake pad bars so loud

I’m talking about the squeaker bars that go off when your pads are ready to be changed, it’s EMBARRASSINGLY Loud like I can hear it screaming over my Car loud. I have to wait a week to change them because no one has them in stock here, but why make them THAT loud? Does every car do this??

Not sure exactly how one would design it to be quieter. It does need to hold up against corrosion, so it is still there when the pads are thin. That part doesn't always work, depending on environmental exposure.

I think the main advantage in it being obnoxiously loud is most people will hopefully do something about it.
keywords- "most" and "hopefully"

Take the opportunity to upgrade to Powerstop Z26 pads. They work great and make way less dust.

I agree.
Only exception would be if OP is tracking the car. The stock semi-metallic pads are superior in that situation.

Yes, they are called "squealers" for a reason. The noise is meant to be the final alarm before your pads wear down to the metal.
