Alignment necessary?

I got my new rims and tires on finally... Yay! Pics coming soon. Since I'm going from the stock LT1 set up to the wider 1LE type set up, will an alignment be necessary? I figure yes, but thought I'd check before spending the money.

Prev: 20x8.5 with 245/40R20's all the way around
New:
Front - 20x10 +25 with 285/35R20
Rear - 20x11 +35 with 305/35R20

I wasn't sure if this question should go into the Wheel section or Suspension.

When was the last time you had an alignment?
If it has been a few years maybe it would be a good idea. That is what I would do.

Technically, no alignment is necessary after changing just wheels and tires.

Since these 1LE sized tires are chonkier, they tramline more easily (depends on brand and product, too), so the previous alignment that was good enough for the skinny tires may need to be tightened up a bit for the new steamrollers to feel just as solid.

All in all, I'd get an alignment just to make sure it's 100% on the money.

My car has similarly sized tires, and after the last alignment done by a true artiste I can now let go of the wheel, give it gas or brake or just coast, the car will keep going straight on its own for at least a quarter mile if not more, depending on road crown and quality. That's the target to shoot for

Thanks for the suggestions. I've driven with the new set up 2 days now and actually things feel really true. I was more concerned about the tires wearing funny on the sides or something, but if the 'chonkier' tires (I like that description. LOL) don't require any alignment adjustments. I may save the dough.

I would get it checked. The check is usually free and they only charge if it's out. You absolutely want to know that the toe is set. The two Camaro's when checked have both been out of spec w/Toe when they were "new".

I ended up getting it done. Thanks. The alignment shop suggested a camber kit as one setting out of spec and was maxed out. I told them to hold off on the camber kit and do the best they can. Miraculously, when they finished the alignment settings, it pulled the maxed out setting back into spec. It's a good shop that specializes in alignment and hot rods; I am glad I didn't pay for the camber kit but question if they were trying to get a couple hundred bucks more out of me. Forgive my lack of proper alignment jargon.

Go somewhere else. Front or rear camber? For the love of God, those guys have no clue what they are doing or they are massive shysters. There's zero need for a "camber" kit on these cars. If they touched the rear camber and toe eccentric bolts they should have been replaced per GM. They are torque to yield bolts (TTY) and GM has a specific tightening procedure.

When they say 'camber kit', maybe they're referring to camber bolts?
