Minus cutting into the body to mount the wing. That made me cringe a bit.

I like the door, cutting off the top so you can get out with a helmet on is nice, but you need a full cage to make that work.

Precautions taken for cutting carbon were not sufficient though. Stuff is about as bad as asbestos apparently!

If you're going to go that far I'd just look at used GT4 race cars. Last Camaro GT4R I saw went for around $100k and that's probably with tons of spares.

EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS TOO!!

There are quite a few GT4 cars out there and Pratt & Miller still have a ton of spares for sale! Would be far better to get a purposefully built race car than to start from a working decent street car.

Someone quote me on this NEXT YEAR when I build mine into a track car!

Just finished up last season and did 12 events with the 9livesracing big wang kit and 3/4" gurney flap...as much as I loved the performance on track I just couldn't get used to the look on the street.

I also agree with others here that the downforce numbers advertised seemed a little high to what I was seeing, but I could always add a few more degrees and get what I wanted though so no big deal for me. I also agree the support from 9livesracing was so so with some questions being answered right away and some stuff they never got back to me on. Their product is well made though so I never really cared.

It's now off the car and I'll probably sell the kit here soon as I'm going another route. I did really like the aero affect though and will look into it on my next build for sure.

^^^Interesting.

Do you have data or just seat of the pants feeling? Sincerely asking and not passing judgement.

I still haven’t received mine but my intention is to run the NLR on an, already purchased, flat trunk lid (with their largest end plates). Meaning, I won’t have the 1LE spoiler. In contrast, it seems you have the 1LE spoiler plus a gurney flap on the spoiler. I do wonder if that negatively affects your wings performance. There are also examples of cars with both wing and spoiler so I don’t think there’s a definitive answer on the matter.

Btw, I also have those small dive planes waiting to get installed. I hope to get this all running in the next month and then put it to the test at Laguna Seca.

Just a seat of the pants feeling and it just didn't feel like the amount of downforce the chart was saying. I don't think it was way off but I could add a couple of degrees and the front/rear ratio was off per the chart but it felt better on track. I also don't think their chart is car specific but wing specific so maybe the car has an affect on those numbers also.

Yes, I kept the 1LE spoiler but eliminated the spoiler gurney flap and it's just the bolts you're seeing in the picture. I also wonder though if that spoiler is adjusting the effect and that's why it's a little off for me, good question and I don't know the answer. You'll also be surprised how much the wing moves the trunk around at speed, I adjusted the trunk bumpers and added some thick weather stripping to stop the trunk from bottoming out and creating a line on the top of the bumper in the middle.

I've had the dive planes on for a couple of years now and they held up well. I did have to put two small rivets on each one for them to stay on at high speeds so you way want to do that also for track use.

All in I still consider the NLR big wang to be the best bang for your buck aero and you won't be disappointed.

Flow over the roof of a particular car *absolutely* plays a role in generated downforce at a particular AOA.
