I have never had my car on an alignment machine. I did stress to the dealer, last year when I bought the car, that I wanted the suspension set for street driving and the alignment done accordingly. But who the hell knows what they did or If they even checked the alignment. I wish there was a way to check the alignment at home. I’m going to start playing with the PSI on my front tires (increasing it) and see what happens. It’s scary when it happens and you’re not ready for it. Feels like the car is going to turn into the median/concrete divider by itself.

1- Cross swap the tires side to side to see if it changes direction. 2- Get it up on an alignment machine at a reputable shop. 3- If all else fails, have your tires tested on a Hunter Road Force balancer that has straight track. That video link I posted explains why it can happen. |

this is a legitimate pull to the left, I actually feel the steering wheel pull to the left under hard acceleration. EDIT: I just watched the youtube video you linked, thank you for that. I now get how the tire can be the issue. Thank you again for that link, this is why I love coming on here............to learn and share knowledge.

UPDATE:
I bought a second car Identical after totaling my first one and learned a bit more about this issue. After everything is perfect and you get crab walk on light acceleration is it 100% the tires. However if you get an unsettling left right wiggle it is an Reprogramming issue. I never knew this with my first car because that was the very first thing they did when I complained about the crab walk on light acceleration, at this point I never went full throttle to experience the Wiggle. The dealer updated my differential control module and I never had the Wiggle issue but battled the crab walk with 7 alighments, tire rotations, corner weighting etc ultimatley new tires fixed it. When I bought my second car we put my wheels and tires off my first car, completed a full alighnment, corner weighting, and adjustable sway bar links. On hard excelleration experience a very unsettling almost violent right left wiggle, I though to myself did I buy a lemon? After a few months of on and off driving a Light bulb went off coming out of a car show. Hmmm I wonder if there are any updates for the differential, so the next day drove the car to work and put my IT professional on the task and sure enough there were 5 updates for various modules in the car one of them being the differential. After the updated flash I now have my car back full throttle it is on a String. I hope this helps someone looking in to this. If you are close to me and want to update modules in your GM, Ford or Chryslers we have the equipment and software to do so. Ted.

Is there a consensus as to if/what MY this was fixed from the factory? Have these cars left the factory with the updated calibration?

is there an option to send you the module and pay to have you flash it? Last edited by calypso50kid; 01-12-2025 at 11:00 PM. |

Ted’s info is very interesting.
My ‘17 ZL1 had the wiggle which I never noticed until I replaced the OEM Goodyears with PS4S. My 2023 CT5-V Blackwing comes standard with PS4S tires and also has the wiggle so I’ve attributed the wiggle more to the tires than anything else. One would think the eLSD going into a 2023 MY car would have all the latest updates. But maybe not.

What I know is I HAVE noticed that the sway is a lot more pronounced in TOUR mode, under light-to-WOT throttle. In SPORT, it seems to be a LOT less pronounced. I'm still on the original factory tires, but it's behaved this way since right off the dealer lot. The car acts the same on the DRs, too. I tried ZLE bushings and replaced all the suspension arms in the rear with rod-bearing ends (including the rear cradle braces), but it's still there. That was a lot of work and $$$, lol... Maybe it has to do with the roads around here, too. Maybe he'd act better at the strip, because all of my observations have been on the street.

I would say have a conversation with your dealer or local GM specialist who has the equipment We can select which module we want to update and update that module only. Ted.
