LS7 or Gatorman lifters?
Want to start getting parts for my Maggie 2650 build. Depending on what BTR says but maybe a BTR 220 cam and double springs. Now LS7 or Gatorade lifters? I read the LS7 ones aren't good for double springs and first glance Gatorade look better

Ok thanks all I have it narrowed down between the morel 7717, 5290. No trays needed, Caddy lifters and johnson 2110

Morels are a good middle ground. The 7717 are similar to LS7 with slightly less plunger travel. The 7790 are a short travel drop-in. The use of short travel lifters may require custom length pushrods to get preload correct, which is the main reason most cam packages use LS7 style. They have a boat load of travel which creates a wider range of acceptability for lifter preload variances. Imo this isn't what you want for high rpm applications. You will lose lobe lift at high rpm from the lifters pumping up. Short travel solves that problem but can require more effort to setup the valvetrain properly.

I argued, but why are the Scat's always behind me? It just went sideways from there. ![]() Regarding cam choice, for a Maggie build I really would reconsider the BTR 220 cam. I went with the 220 because for all effect and purpose, my build is pretty much NA from idle to 5,000rpm. And that's the rpm range I live in 90% of the time. I'm also not concerned about making max power or making the biggest number, either. A couple other contributing factors made the BTR220 a logical choice for me, even though I'm pushing boost. Centri's are linear just like NA, since I only see 1-3psi below 5,000, it has been a great setup for *me* even though BTR gave me some shit about it. A PD blower is an entirely different animal. While the 220 isn't going to "not make power," it's not going to be as effective as a BTR Supercharged Stage 1 or 2 cam would be. Particularly in that low-mid range where PD blowers are a ton of fun, you don't need a cam profile that works on air velocity as much as promoting gulping air volume. I'd wager you'd leave a chunk of power on the table between a BTR220 cam and their SC Stage 1/2 cam. Talk to BTR about it some more. You do what you like, I just thought it was worth consideration.

Johnson link bar lifters are great, just be prepared to get multiple pushrod lengths. I have 3 might need 4, because of a bad valve job that changed valve tip heights.
