What is this noise?
Anyone know what is making this noise? is it the fuel line? very clear inside the car:

So... is your ZL1 stock? Mine has very loud fuel injectors when they are pulsing. So loud in fact, after I got my car back from Katech I called Mike to ask about it.

there's a rather large thread "ZL1 with a tick"...I think is the title. I wasn't able to listen to your video though.

IMHO - it's hard to tell what you're talking about in the video. IF - it's the hose you're talking about, I have noticed a few things with my situation.
I've started getting longer cold starts than I had a few years ago this time of year. It was extended cranking time, and sometimes multiple cranks. Once he finally chugged to life, I could hear what sounds like a tapping sound, but it doesn't correspond with engine speed (I'll have to check again, but I feel like it's probably around 160-beats/minute). It's almost a very heavy pulse-type-sound. After about a minute or so of idling, it goes away. AND - if I do a restart, he immediately fires right back up, with no extra crank time, or chugging to life or anything or tapping sound. He's just on and idling fine. I also notice that the shorter intervals between drives the less intense the tapping, and the shorter it taps. I have a feeling this has to do with running E'. I'm at almost E80 (pump) and this started happening a year ago, or so, after adding PI and running E'. I FEEL like I could hear something similar, when I was only on gasoline, but it wasn't nearly as pronounced. I haven't run gasoline to verify, but that's what I'm guessing. I might replace the line with the new one anyways since it doesn't look like it must be too big a deal. I think book time was only a few hours, so it can't be that bad I guess. I'm not seeing anything funny with fuel pressure, so if it's just a NVH deal, I can wait for a bit. I might just order the line anyways, and do it later, but so far - no biggie. I've also been running ethanol treatment, blended at the prescribed amount. I don't know if that helps, but I DO know that a DeatschWerks helpline technician suggested running Power Plus Lubricants 19769-18 - Power Plus Top Lube for fuel pump longevity. I was going to pick a bottle of that up to see if that helps, but at least I'll have some confidence in it helping with their pumps.

Thanks for replies, pretty sure the line is the culprit. I guess if it aggravates me enough ill change it one day but as long as it's mechanically sound, not too worried.

What is your build date? If it was May/June 2023 it likely has a defective fuel feed pipe and needs replacement per the tsb in post 6 above. I would get it done if you still have a warranty.
