IMO - I like color/contrast in the engine bay. That's a lot of red with the lid, but I like that it seems to highlight a mod. I think the polished one looked great in there, too. I think what matters most, though, is if you like it or not.

Update: Still have to swap out the MMCC adapter with the adapter regulator. Also need to commit to removing the front bumper and install/complete the FI Interchiller Stage 2. But, finally picked up a LT4 Billet Thermostat Housing Guard, quick and easy to install!

Update: I've not yet had the energy (or the desire) to start on the FI Interchillers Stage 2 Interchiller install yet. But, ran in to an issue and now this guy is being added! Ordered from HPTuners a new Unlocked TCM, I wanted to keep my stock one as is. I will install this over the weekend and the TCM tune will follow!

Just try to keep track of the locations of all the fasteners. There are some longer ones that, I believe, if you put in the wrong place, you'll find an extra hole outside of the bumper facia you're not going to like...

Thanks radz28! I'm going to try replacing the TCM through the passengers side wheel well first. This seems to have a lot less going on to do it that way if it works out!

That stupid aux' radiator bracket's a beesh, and there's so much sheet in there. BUT - I've done it so much that it's now just easier for me. Good practice for when I pull the trigger on SOCAL's crash bar

Either way - you got this, and it WILL be worth it!

UPDATE: TCM is replaced with a new HPTuners Unlocked TCM, and it only took about an hour! Before doing anything, the first thing I had to do was use VCM Scanner to do the first step of the "Replace TCM function". This function reads your stock TCM data so it can write the data to the new one once it's installed. After that, it was time to start taking out screws! I decided to access the TCM via the front passengers side wheel well vs removing the front bumper. I only removed the screws from the middle of the wheel well cover forward and the screws under the car. Then, I just pulled the cover back out of the way, which gave me access to the TCM. I had to drop the aux radiator cooler down and out of the way (it's only held in place by 3 bolts). The actual TCM is held into the house by one set of cleats, at the top. I removed the TCM wiring harness to get it out of the way. Then, pried the cleat open and popped out the stock TCM, grabbed the new unlocked TCM and popped it into the house. I attached the wiring harness and popped it back into the housing. Put everything back and presto, unlocked TCM is installed! Then I used VCM Scanner to do the second step of the "Replace TCM" function and it wrote the stock TCM data to the new unlocked TCM. I went for a quick drive and all was normal!

Hey, hope everyone is doing great! It's been a while since I've had any updates, so here are a few misc. ones.

I'm replacing my stock hood scoop with a GM exposed carbon fiber hood scoop with ZL1 emblems. I was a bit shocked on how much that baby ran ($2,275). I got it from Wild Hammer. Also, adding carbonaddons carbon fiber mirror covers, carbon fiber interior door handles trim covers and carbon fiber start stop engine button cover.

Other updates: Taking the car up to Katech for misc. work, nothing big. I was thinking about doing a CAM package and a few other mods and still on the fence. It seems a big cost for an additional 216 rwhp. So I'm still debating to do it or not. Plus, I don't want SOCAL.M6.ZLE to feel any pressure to make his signature bigger !!!! (Just kidding Gabe! hope all is well!!!)

Now, how has the car been driving since the having Katech do the THPSI port injection and fuel system upgrade. AWESOME! I've not had it out as much as I wish. But, when I do have it out, it's a total WOW factor when driving! I plan on changing out the wheels and tires for something stickier for straight line stuff. I just have to figure out with what! My Nitto's do great when it's warmer to hot out. But, not so good when it was getting cooler, 3rd and 4th pulls really break the tires loose.

Last thing, and trying to make a funny! I've noticed ever since picking the car up from Katech. I seem to have this dash warning come on a lot!!

I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

In regards to removing the old hood scoop, TAKE YOUR TIME!!! There is an ass ton of tape around the upper edge of the old one, a heat gun will help with the removal tremendously!

You've got yourself a great car
I don't think you'll find tires that stick more in a straight line at very high hp/wheel ratios than those 555RIIs. Such tires don't really exist, the cars that have more traction with this much or more power than you are AWD. Yes, I have tried the Toyo R888R, too, it's no better but makes a metric ton of noise, it whines like a monster truck tire above 40-45 mph.

Just as a note, since you've come such a long way from stock, I try to never let the fuel level drop below 1/8th of a tank (one tick on the display), because I want to make sure the low side pump is always fully submersed. The car transfers fuel from the driver side of the saddle to the passenger side where the pump is, so only one side goes completely empty first, and when it says 1/8th of a tank is left, it's really 1/4 in one half of the saddle. However, if you let the fuel level drop all the way down, the pump can be exposed and I don't want to run it without the liquid cooling it was designed for.

Great points and thank you! That's the first time my tank has even been under 1/4 to be honest. I ran it low as I have to take the car up to Katech for a bit of additional misc. work and didn't want them to have to deal with a tank for of gas! But good points! As for tires, I'll probably find some bead lock wheels I like and go with MT Street Rs ? I know I will need to change the size.

Hood scoop arrived today... man was the box beat to SH, but Wild Hammer had it packaged very well. Couldn't be happier with this add-on!

These are the mirror covers just loosely fit, but not "installed" yet.
