Magnuson2650r on Heads Cam SS?
I have a FBO heads N/A Cam SS and was thinking of boosting, I know I have to upgrade the fuel system but do I need to get new pistons as well even if I’m only trying to be mild? I’m wanting to push 650whp max as I don’t want to push the engine to its limits. Do I need to get forged pistons? Also I’ve heard having a cam decreases the amount of psi the SC puts out so is that helpful?

Don't need to but it would be wise. It's going to make 700whp minimum with the largest pulley you can put on a 2650.

Personally I think the safe limit with boost on an sbe lt1 is around 550whp.

According to the Dyno I was making 464whp with same mods minus the Ported MSD and 95mm TB I haven’t dynod after I put those on. But it was like 106 degrees when I got dynod and I definitely run a lot better than a 464whp car.

I'll be "that guy". Why a 2650R? Do you plan on building it past 650 and doing the pistons or different motor later on? I thought around 7-8PSI was the safe boost amount for sbe.

I don’t have times, but I’ve beaten a hellcat (pretty badly) ,FBO E85 10 speed (somewhat badly) and my buddy’s 2013 Gt500 (was close). From a dig I’m practically untouchable unless it’s an awd Tesla or something but still pretty impressive from a roll. Also I’m in Denver.

I just assumed that was the best one to go with. I’ve heard the Whipple 3.0 is good too but overkill for what I want.

650RWHP corrected in Denver should last a longtime on the stock bottom end if the person behind the keyboard has the slightest clue.
I would recommend an LT4 fuel system at minimum. |
