The Duralast Platinum AGM is what I went with for my SS. It was $265
O’reilly’s carries the factory AC Delco for $275.

My factory stock battery in my 17SS was still going strong after 6 years and 71k miles when I replaced it. I figured if its that good I'll replace it with a another Factory GM Battery.

Same. I own a 2016 SS, just replaced the original battery last week. I think I could have squeezed another year out of it, but figured it would be a good time to replace. I went with another GM delco battery.

How did you guys determine that the battery was ready for retirement?

I have a battery tester and replaced the battery when its original 760 CCA dropped into the 440s after a little less than 5 years, even though the car still started every time (although the starter did run slower and struggled longer), I didn't notice electrical gremlins either. The new ACDelco I bought was in the upper 760s new, as expected.

I replaced my oem battery recently due to leakage at the positive terminal. Has anyone else noticed this?

I used common sense...over 6 years and 70k miles...it was just a matter of time so I replaced it before it decided to fail.

The dash told me to.
It had sat for a week in warm weather and the DIC displayed "Battery saver mode active. Charge or replace battery." It was 5 years old at that point.

Wow, we have this feature in the BCM? Good to know, thanks for the info

I will say that this probably won't distinguish between low charge because of sitting for too long and a weak battery, though.
