Extended Warranty on Camaro 2020 LS
Hey, I just bought a used Standard 2020 Camaro LS with 15K miles on it.
The dealership offered me a 5 year 60K miles extended warranty for 2900 usd. I was wondering if this is worth it, or should I go back and ask for a refund? I ust read the contract, and I'm allowed to refund it. Also, they sold me a KAHU for 800 usd, that I'm not sure if I can refund, but I will also try to. So are these stuff worth it or I just got scammed by the dealership? Thanks in advance! EDIT: (It's KAHU/LoJack, basically a tracker for your car in case it gets stolen. But insurance covers stolen vehicles anyways) Last edited by mv564; 11-21-2024 at 10:28 PM. |

Ah! Got it. If it's a true hidden module like LoJack or one you can personally use to see the location of your vehicle (i.e. via app) it's probably worth keeping. If it's just a module plugged into your ODB port I'd take it back immediately. Thieves can just pull a module plugged into your ODB port.
I'll let someone else comment about the pricing on the warranty. I think warranties can be a good investment, but they often charge a premium for them. Additionally, if you plan to modify your car you might end up voiding the warranty, which could make it a waste of money. Just something to consider. |

It's a LoJack, but unfortunately it was plugged in the ODB port using an ODB extensor so it didn't appear to have it but still I was able to find it and remove it in like 10 minutes

You dont seem like someone who is very fluent in cars or the complexity that they can be (no offense) so i would say stick with the extended warranty they sold you and familiarize yourself with the car and potential troubles it could have. Take forum failure rants as info only, just because 10 or 15 people have had this oddball failure doesn't mean the 100s of thousands of cars made all have that problem.
