Rear end sway (fish tailing feel)
When im driving straight and really get on the gas the backend feels like it’s going to fish tail. Will better stiffer trailing arms and like BMR or SPL correct this feeling if so which ones should I go with I would just replace all of them just not sure if either brand is better than the other.
Thanks for any advice |

Check alignment and obvious failed components. These cars are sensitive to alignment changes. Find a shop who will strive for perfection. As far as suspension arms, if you care about cornering and handling, don't swap arms with poly bushings. It's a downgrade vs the OE arms. The poly can bind and create an increase in wheel rate (suspension stiffness) which upsets the balance of the chassis. SPL and their superior spherical rod ends FTW if you really want to upgrade.

The ZLE with stock suspension should feel pretty solid under load in a straight line. Check the simple things like tire condition and torqued wheels. But probably it's alignment. When you get the alignment, asking for some rear toe in can help steady the rear. The SPL parts may help with certain alignment goals (I have some myself), but I don't think they're the first-line solution to the problem you're describing.

This has all been hashed out before and while ALignment is somethign to consider that's not it. Though the usual remedy of a cradle lockout kit or other bits like upper control arm, upper/lower trailing arms, would apply to a ZLE as I think it already has solid bushings?

When i first got my car it felt like that to me. I ended up realizing the tires were spinning and the locker was trying to control it. It didn't seem like that at first because the traction light wasn't coming on, i realized the time between the tires spinning and the car letting you know was very delayed. I had put my scanner on it and put all the wheel speeds on a graph, it was very clear to see. Im not saying that is your issue but it was mine. It felt almost like the back of the car was floating freely. Mostly on entrance ramps

I had the same issue at speeds approaching 90mph. It turned out that the rear MR shocks were bad and had the telltale signs of seepage. GM replaced them under warranty and the issue completely disappeared. Your ZLE shocks are obviously different and I dont know if they share the same failure characteristics but its an easy check

Let me add another bump to alignment that others already called out.
My alignment is now near perfect (with almost new PS4S tires), and I can let go of the steering wheel, the car just drives on straight. There is no more sense of floatiness in the rear, it's super planted when accelerating hard in a straight line. I always anticipate some wiggle, but it just doesn't come. I do have the BMR rear cradle lockout kit, which also noticeably improved rear end stability, but it does little when the alignment is off.

Odds are this was all the systems preventing me from eating it and getting as much of the power down as it can? Was done very smoothly with no real drama just some wiggle that I didnt really have to fight.

Sorry per peve of mine and this forums. Lacking a ZL1 1LE sub forum.
ZL1 ZLE has solid cradle bushings. BMR is not going to lock anything that I can see thats already solid. Weld it if you want it more solid. ..and like said alignment is the A number 1 thing to get right. It took me 2 dealers visits and visit to another dealer and then a real professional shop to get mine going straight WITH the same set of tire.
