GM corporate vision: Zero crashes, zero emissions, zero congestion. LT1 or any gasoline Camaro doesn't fit into that.

Just keep in mind the LT6 is a different beast with different characteristics. It's not gutless down low, but it doesn't have the grunt the LT1/LT2 has. Gotta rev it out, but it sounds glorious as you do push it. I wanted something different than my 2017 Camaro SS in terms of the experience from the engine, and the LT6 delivers.
That’s what I’ve heard. I think I would prefer LT4 driving experience to LT6, but the 5.5 does sound glorious. C7 is a no go. Don’t appreciate the rear end. I like the Eray, but I’ve got to have the big wing/ CF aero- I love the aero on the ZLE.

I agree that whatever GM calls Camaro will have electric motors as its root, but I doubt seriously that it will be frumpy in any manner. The flexibility of the skateboard design means you can get really creative with the top hat. Since GM will have a ton of different SUV / CUV entries, I expect them to do something really funky with a Camaro design. Could have 4 doors, but think 4-Series, not Fusion in terms of aggressive design. But that also does not rule out 2 doors coupe.

If there is a pure EV Camaro, it better be able to go around curves, have the brakes, and cooling for sustained track days, etc.

Not enough actual sport car EV’s. We have enough “muscle car” EV’s where all they really have is their blistering 0-60 times and with lucid and the plaid, blistering 1/4 mile times.

Camaro hybrid? Maybe. Four door EV? There may be takers, but I’m not one of them. That said, I’m surprised Tesla hasn’t done more styling wise with their top performance trim…

Agreed. Best choice for a reasonably priced muscle car is now the new Mustang. If you can afford some more then C8 or Blackwing. Or if you really have some cash then AMG still offers some sweet ICE choices.

I think we will have to wait through most of 2025 before we get a clearer picture of what will happen with emissions, EV's, and ICE production related to an administration change.

BTW, I read last night that California made changes to diesel emissions requirements for 2025 on Oct 24th which have caused several motorhome builders to pull out of the California Market because of these effective mandates banning new diesel motorhomes from being sold into the California Market. CARB responded that it isnt a mandate and that these businesses can buy emissions credits to enable them to sell.

I think we all know the reality is you'll have to pay through the nose because of the mandates through carbon credits and manufacturers see the writing on the wall that people wont keep paying more and more.

I think it's a pretty safe bet that front engine, coupe, rear wheel drive V8's that have the option for a manual are done from GM. Camaro was the only one that fit the bill.

Wouldn't surprise me if they did a Mach-E move to try and make the Camaro nameplate have "broader" appeal so to speak. Hold on to your 6th gens if you really appreciate the last of the breed.

Shamefully, the last mohican of these cars from GM wasn't even the Camaro but the CT5-V Blackwing. Yes, it isn't a coupe, but it maxed goodness out in every other way, and doesn't look too bad either.

Relatedly, GM just announced the death of the ICE XT4 so that they can have more capacity to make . . . EVs.

I will not buy an EV Camaro.
If you don't have a Camaro now, I'd buy a Blackwing (4 or 5) asap.

Yep, I could buy a nitro yellow LT4 powered CADDY for $100k, but GM would not pick up my build for a nitro Camaro ZLE. Why? I suspect because they used all the ZLE goodies on the CE panther cars…

The way I see it, they could’ve built all their ZLE sold orders before shutting the Camaro line down. It was easy money I would think given the long gen6 run and corresponding bumps in MSRP.

Oh well, very thankful I had a backup plan with the SS1LE. The Z06 IS very nice, but getting one of those built is complicated as well.

The entire C8 market is softening. Dealers are posting allocations on Facebook groups every ordering round for MSRP or less for Z06 now. Since you want the aero, would need to find a dealer that was allocated either aero packages in the constraints. But even that is becoming easier too.

Yea, I’m hearing the FB groups are the way to go. Watch them and be ready to pull the trigger, quickly.

I’ve talked to several dealers. It’s tough to impossible to get a straight answer regardless of delivery date. GM is making it tough on dealers and consumer. I found one stock/ delivered order that was close at $2500 under, but tough to spend that much coin short of getting exactly what you want.
