8l90 lock down rear tires while driving
So driving my 2016 Camaro SS / 8l90 home tonight and feel my converter locking and unlocking. It's been doing this for a few weeks now. I of course hammer it and the car begins to feel like something is holding it back. After a few seconds my rear tires lock up and I put the transmission in neutral and coast to the nearest joining road to stop. I put the trans in manual mode and start limping it home. Everything is fine until I bump it in 6th and it again locked up my rear tires until I was able to move it back to neutral. I ended up limping it home in 5th gear. Any ideas what went wrong with it? It's smooth and normal 1st thru 5th and reverse works, but 6th gear will lock the rear tires like a e-brake.
2016 Camaro SS, headers, cai, ported lt2 intake, Pray Tuned ECU and Trans. I know it wasn't the tune. I've put 130,000 miles thru it without issues. |

Trans needs rebuilt and new converter.

Agreed. A modded car with 130,000 miles so hardly unreasonable to say it’s time for a rebuild… I’d say the OP definitely got his moneys worth out of that transmission lol
