Any more info on this? Anyone building forged piston short blocks? Is the deck height the same as the LT1/LT4? Weight difference?

Old thread but interseting

Anyone found out any more info on this. The biggest problem is getting pistons, lt1's will not work, longer stroke smashes them into heads. Gonna do some looking into.

I have an l8t crank with Texas speed drop in rod & pistons in my lt1 block. Works fine.

To be clear: your pistons & rods are typical LT1 drop-ins right? If so, interesting that they work with the L8T crank since I believe the stroke is a bit more if memory serves.

What I have is l8t drop ins, same 4.065 bore with a longer stroke that I can't remember. Same basic design as the lt1 stuff just for the l8t crank.

What other parts would i need for this? Different balancer, different flex plate? Any help would be appreciated.

I have been researching this a little, and found that BTR has some pistons for l8t/gen v lt1, using 6.125 rods and the l8t 3.860 crank. I called them and he computes it to be at about 11.7 to 1 compression. Thats with a lt4 head gasket and my lt1 59cc heads. After I pull mine and it needs a bottom end im looking to do that.
