Saw this earlier and got super hyped for him to finally have a real ZLE. The tires really ruined the video potential

Having 7 year old tires on that thing is a sin. Maybe he never drives it? Even so, Hankook? Get some Michelin Cup 2's on that thing for the track.

These people schedule with him to drive their cars around the track. You'd think the owner would have put on the correct 3R tire instead of those cheap Hankook's. Oh well.

The 3R is a faster tire than the Cup 2.

Every time I see a ZL1-1LE video on Misha’s channel I cringe. The first guy a while back had a car dressed up like a 1LE and then on top of that it had mismatched tires. The part that gets me is that guys were defending him in the comments when I called it out on the video.

Then this most recent guy with the Hankooks. I use those same tires and have a lot of experience with them. On the street they are fine but they reach the limit quick and dramatically change the handling dynamic of the car. You have to finesse the car into the corners and you lose your quick turning ability with the car on those. I can get the Hankooks to within 4 seconds of my SC3R lap times. They are very loud communicative tires. They work, but it takes some skill. They’re 320tw after all.

If I keep the ZLE I am going to send mine over there with the 18” wheels and slicks. It’s set up to corner and I know he will love it. We already know what it can do in stock trim. The crazy thing is, I vaguely recall hearing/reading somewhere that for the ZLE Nurburgring run, GM did not use the track camber.

The owner had a look that screamed, I never drive above 5/10ths. Unfortunate, but not surprising, to be on 7 year old tires.

How you buy a car like a ZLE and then skimp on tires is beyond me. At least Misha got to drive a well set up SS 1LE a few years ago.

Disappointing for sure. Yes it would be nice to get a properly set up 10 speed out there for a true interpretation.

It was ruined by those trash tires. It was a shame we didn’t get to see it at full potential.

Even so the owner looked like he was about to poo his pants at any given moment! I can’t imagine his face on a fresh set of 3Rs...

Terrible 7 year old tires on the ZLE. He needs a redo after putting on some proper tires like the GY3R.

I can speak from experience that it's pretty difficult (or unreasonably expensive) to get 3Rs in Germany (or Europe in general) so very likely all/most of the imported ZL1 1LEs are swapped to different tires once the first set is up. It seems my car is still the "best" set up Camaro that Mischa has been in but unfortunately he wasn't able to drive as his German license was suspended at the time thanks to poor placement/timing of a construction zone on the Autobahn lol
