Interior color code

I have a 24 with the standard black leather seats that already has a rubbed spot on the seat. Is there a code somewhere for that color? I have a bottle of “Chevrolet black” for an 14 Camaro that was perfect for it but it’s too dark for this one. Thanks in advance.

My sources say WA600R was the jet black interior color up to and including model year 2020, and it definitely is the correct interior paint code for my 2018. I don't think GM would've changed it later, so you may want to give it a try and order a touch-up kit.

The door jamb has a QR code with some options and the exterior paint color code, but it'll just say the RPO code for the jet black interior that is H0Y (if it even lists the interior code).

Apart from internet sources, I have a 2018 GM color compat guide with full paint color info including wheels and interior (see below), and you can start researching touch-up options from the paintref link I gave.

(It is possible that GM changed physical interior colors after 2020, but I think it's unlikely, there have been zero announcements and they wouldn't have gained anything by doing so. If I had the same issue, I'd just get some touch-up and see for myself.)

Thank you for this chart. Would you possibly be able to help me out please? Underneath my rear valance I have a scratch that’s hard to see unless you’re under the car. What code do you think is correct for my car from the list you posted? I have a 23 2SS 1le. The valance between our cars is a different color. Yours (non 1le) is way shinier. I see 2 black semi gloss color codes listed but cannot figure out why there are 2? I don’t think the one that is black satin W40A848 is correct as there is some gloss on the 1le valance.

Never mind I did some searching and found what I found out in the summer. It’s just standard GM black but painted with a “semi gloss” clear coat. I do wonder if either of those 2 paint codes listed as “black semi gloss” would do the trick though.

Yeah, sorry, but I don't have any personal experience with the 1LE semi-gloss clear. If you can obtain an ACDelco 3-in-1 kit, it will have the correct type of clear.

GIven how difficult it is to find proper ACDelco kits (my garnet red tintcoat 3-in-1 is an absolute treasure now, heh), I checked paintscratch.com where I was able to get a perfect 3-in-1 kit in the past for my 1LE wheels (should be the same as yours btw). However, their system only knows about W50A848 and even that only up to model year 2022. I'd still give that a try.

Another option is drcolorchip.com, but their stuff is more expensive and I don't think they supply or let you select different clearcoats.

Then if you feel very adventurous, you can take off and reclear the diffuser with 2K satin, but there is no guarantee it'll have the exact same sheen as the rest of your semi-gloss pieces, so it's quite risky. I would install a better diffuser if I ever took it off anyway, which is exactly what I did.

Well it’s not jet black. How in the world do I read the QR code on the door frame? The camera on my phone won’t list them all.

That's because the door jamb QR code only contains a partial RPO list, unfortunately.

You need the factory build sheet that has them all. GM used to provide your build sheet upon request at socialmedia@gm.com, not sure if this is still an option or how it's done these days, sorry.

I was wrong again. It actually is 4AA, “jet black”. I forgot I had a copy of that excel sheet. When you find your car, there is a link to an electronic window sticker. Open it, put your cursor in the top left corner and bring it down until you get the text cursor instead of the arrow. Click and drag across the sheet and it will highlight over invisible text. Copy and paste that to a browser address bar and that will show you the RPO codes too.

That’s where I got it but he had three different blacks. I needed the RPO.
