How did it go at VIR? Any feedback compared to the OEM staggered setup with SC3's?

I wish I had feedback to provide, but unfortunately, my shop could not get the tires on the 11" wheel because of the stiffness of the sidewalls (I was having this done a day before I had to leave). I would have been running 305/30/19 square. Now I have to find a shop capable of installing these tires so no on track feedback until sometime in 2025 unfortunately.

Wow, it seems these tires really like to be stretched a bit. I'm running the 295/35/18s on 18x12s. Apparently not that hard to mount but I've heard the 305/30/19 are really tough.

That sure is interesting. Looking at the tire specs, it gives a rim width range of 10.5"-11.5", so 11" should be just right. I've heard that they do have a very stiff sidewall, but so do the SC3's. Maybe the tire shop just had an older machine that couldn't handle it.

Good to know for sure. My 285/35s we just let them sit in the sun awhile and used 100 psi of air to seat them. My wheels are 10.75” and I better check with my Race shop first before I buy them! Though a friend has 305s on his 11” wheels and no issue as another guy I race with. Will check with them as to what shop mounted them

The sidewalls on the Stones make those on the SC3s seem like marshmallows. They are mega-stiff. They are probably never easy to mount. However, lots of people have mounted the 305/30/19 on 11" wheels, including my shop. That's doable. Mounting them on 10" wheels is nearly impossible, though. 285/35/19 on 10" or 11" rims is doable, and that is also very common.

My friend mounted my 305s on 11" wheels without a problem. Even though he only uses water for lube. His secret is to use the high volume from the shop air, he has an adapter that lets the 1/4" quick connect screw on the valve stem. With the valve core removed there is no bottle neck from the air hose to the valve stem. Similar principal to using one of those bead buddy air tanks. It took him an hour to mount and balance 4 tires that way.

Is that Duane at R Compounds? If so yeah he never had a issue , just uses that technique.

Sorry to resurrect this, but what would be the issue with 285/35 front and 305/35 rear?

The RE71RS isn't offered in a 305/35/19.
