GM PERFORMANCE CAI / Smog / California Question

For those who have the GM Performance CAI and have had their smog checks in California, how did you pass the visual? Unless you know your camaros, doubt too many are going to believe its a stock part especially if the filter gets changed from blue to red, right?

Did GM supply a CARB Compliant sticker?

I haven't had to pass any CA inspections- thankfully, but yes the "Cheverolet/GMC cleaner kit-air, legal in 50 states for emission-controlled vehicles, CARB executive order # D-126-43" sticker comes with the part.
Personally, I don't think any inspection site individual would know what color the filter would/should be. But my sticker is proudly displayed under the hood- next to the MSD sticker #D-722-1.

You have to have the CARB and EO Sticker on the CAI to pass inspection. That comes with the part in the box.

I have the K&N tube only with a carb sticker and they checked mine. Ran the number and everything. They go with a flashlight and check the entire engine, look under the car. I think the tech even has a photo of the stock engine for comparison. More than I remember them doing in the past.

Also if you have a range device, make sure to unplug it and drive at least 200 miles on it. Unplugging the range device right when you get there leaves three of the sensors uncheckable. I was warned once and told that if they couldn't be read after driving so many miles and cycles I wouldn't pass smog.

Is there a spicific mounting location? On the box or bottom of the hood, far left. For legal purposes I should put I'm asking incase I wanted to restore a 6 gen to OEM spec to be concourse.

That's only your county, though, isn't it. Still, how on earth they have the time and money for this insane level of scrutiny is beyond me.

Don't forget GM couldn't ship a Zl1 or 1LE to California for most of 2022 until they came out with the copper free's. The universitys out here do a number on brain washing our youth.
