Rear brembo brakes.
Does anyone know if the rear single piston brakes that come standard on the LT1 have the same “bolt pattern” or “fastener alignment” or “bolt spacing” as the 4 piston rear Brembos. Looking to put 4 piston Brembos on the rear of my car. If the bolt alignment isn’t the same I know all I will have to do is change the suspension knuckles which is not a big deal since the wheel bearing/hub is the same on any version of this car.
I know it can be done just want to make sure before I make the purchase. I’m okay with losing function of my parking brake…I’ll just leave it in gear when I park. I know the hubs are the same because I ordered a right rear knuckle for a SS with 4 piston brembos (it was the wrong one but I kept it) and already swapped the hub over at one point. (I had a premature wear on my right wheel hub and thought it was my knuckle) The knuckles are indeed different. But just due to the power parking brake vs the electronic parking brake. If I remove my existing rear single piston caliper I could just test fit it with the spare knuckle I have sitting in my basement and if it aligns I know I won’t need to buy the left side knuckle and that the Brembos will be a direct fit. Figured I’d ask the community first. If nobody can give me a straight answer I’ll do the R&D myself. Last edited by Spudsmaro; 10-17-2024 at 01:59 PM. |
