Zl1 cutting power

So my tuner is looking into this issue as well but would like some other opinions. My car recently went thru a heads and cam package.

Mod: Maggy 2650, heads and cam, bolt on with toohighpsi port injections.

When I go to WOT, the car shift fine and makes good power until the 6-7 shift. When the car is trying to make the 6-7 shifts, it seems to just over rev and then close the throttle body, even though the accel pedal position is still 99%. Have anyone had a similar issue and what was your resolution? Is there anything I should check for in the tune? Everything looks good up til the part the throttle starts closing. Do you think the trans is on its way out? Car have 23k miles so I thought it should still be ok for alittle while longer.

Any advice is appreciated.

Was the transmission also sent out for modification for tuning as well?

I had a similar issue: Car over revved by a lot shifting from 6th to 7th. It must have been a glitched TCM tune flash. My laptop was running on battery power and I think it might have been in power saving mode (rookie mistake, I could have bricked the TCM). Here is what happened: I flashed the TCM and took it for a test run. The trans over revved in 6th. Came back to the garage reflashed my prior TCM tune with laptop plugged into power. Took the car out for a test run and all was fine. I re-flashed the newest TCM tune that I had the issue with, with computer plugged in to power and this time it was fine, no issues.

+1
I was also thinking TCM flash issue.

Did your throttle body start to close too? Or was it over reving? Mine over rev and then felt like I hit a wall cause the throttle actually started closing fast and you could feel car loss power. At that point I let off and once it's down to crusing speed, I slowly cruise home and car drive fine.

Would need to see a log to determine the issue. It could be a few different things. Mainly calculated torque between the ECU and TCM.

I agree. This sounds like the plausible reason why without seeing a log. Probably a tuning issue though. Especially at the low mileage that OP is at.

I would bet on that since OP has port injection and MAF curve has been reduced causing engine torque to report low number, which leads to lower trans pressure

email me and I can send you a config file for VCM scanner that will capture the relevant torque PID's.

To attach a log to the forum, you go to advanced mode and click attach file.

I had similiar issue.
The reason was, it hit the rev limiter during the shift.
Mine is set now to 6800 rpm I believe.

That simply happens with increased power. The shift points are triggered by speed and not by the rpm's.
By increasing the rev limiter, the transmission gets again enough time to complete the upshift.
