That's all relative to what cars you have experience with, because harsh is the last word I'd use to describe an SS 1LE. Magneride is so incredibly smooth in tour mode that it practically feels like a Maybach compared to some other "normal" cars with bone shattering suspension like the Civic Type R, and the Recaros are less aggressively bolstered compared to other cars with Recaros like the Focus RS/ST.

I think bigpoppa needs to do a test drive. try the seats and get a feel for the ride. He didn't tell us the where or how far he'll be taking this daily driver.

I agree with you 100 percent. That said, this is the original post that started this thread which led to my post about a bad "send" :

He'll never track it, it will be his daily, and he's specifically mentioning about he's heard the "race suspension and race seats are harsh."

Then we get this from a 1LE owner:

This is the perfect place to discuss it. That was my point. We have SS owners with MRC like me, non-MRC, and 1LE owners. That was my only point relating it back to the OP. That's what he wanted, to hear from owners of both.

I'd like to drive a 1LE and compare it to my SS with MRC. That would be interesting. I do know I've driven SS's with non-MRC, and that was the best money I ever spent on an upgrade.

The old saying "You don't know what you're missing" would apply. Just lucky it had that option because I never would have bought it since I didn't know how good it was.

Same here. Some just have to tout their own vehicles as being the end-all and be-all of greatness, instead of actually trying to help people with valid questions. Granted, it's a small minority, yet vocal on this forum.

It's like the threads on auto vs. manual transmissions. Good times. Talk about getting "riled up." Or, God forbid, an EV Camaro thread. People go bat-sh$$ crazy.
Then they're pulled in short order. It's hilarious.

Shhhh, don't mention those! This thread will get derailed so hard.

As for the topic, definitely has to be considered 1LE comes with MRC. So to compare the twos "harshness" that definitely has to be considered.

HUD is pretty nice too(for 1SS buyers), as is Dual mode exhaust, not to mention some of the nicest wheels. It was kind of a bargain for all the upgrades you got.

Definitely not saying someone should get it if they don't care about all the features except maybe one. But if you care about half of what's in there it's definitely worth the few extra thousand (My window sticker says $8,500 CDN). MRC is a $1900 option, and Dual Mode exhaust is $1150 option. Want the brakes? $5750. (All Canadian dollars).

Lol. I hear you. Seeing somebody with 3k posts loving threads that rile people up, I couldn't resist. I do, too. I almost just left it "auto v manuals," but I couldn't help myself.

Exactly what I was mentioning. I'd love to drive a 1LE in Tour mode compared to my 1SS with MRC in Tour. If it's a noticeably stiffer ride on the 1LE, and the OP doesn't care about all the options you mention, which are nice BTW, and the looks, saving a few thousand dollars for a more comfortable daily would make sense.

I know on my 1SS with MRC when I put the suspension in Track mode that it is pretty damn harsh. Sport isn't too bad, but Tour is still my go-to all the time in every mode.

I could deal with it on the 1LE if its Tour mode was like my Sport mode. If it was like my Track mode, I wouldn't care for it. I'm assuming in the 1LE its Track mode beats you up even more than my 1SS since it has a stiffer race suspension, even with the benefit of MRC. The best comparison is Tour v. Tour in both cars with the SS variant having MRC.

Great cars, though. Can't go wrong either way.

Look at what you get for the additional $7k, it's a lot, and many are things I've gone to great trouble and expense to upgrade on my own with other cars in the past, namely brakes, external cooling, and suspension.

I will always have a chip on my shoulder about paying for leather with the 2SS and then paying full freight AGAIN only to have it yanked out for the 1LE Recaros, but whatever....
Absolutely co-signing the Continental choice. I put 1LE wheels and tires on my convertible SS. Highway driving in the rain became a butt-puckering experience. When they wore (quickly) I put on Conti ExtremeContact DWS06. A whole new world. Better ride feel, confident wet weather driving and after about 3,500 miles no visual wear.

If your location is still current we could do a comparison

Sorry to hijack the thread

Tour is pretty soft in my 1LE. If I were to pick a word, I'd use "squishy".

Honestly I usually cruise around in Sport, it's not even that bad. Yeah, stiffer, but if the roads are good it's fine. Tour I reserve for certain less nice roads, and in town driving. (I realize this would probably be area dependent.. road quality differs greatly depending where you are)

It's still current unfortunately. Far West Houston here, almost out of the county near the sticks. The heat here in SE Texas is unbearable. I haven't headed west to New Mexico or beyond only because I'm looking out for my parents in their eighties. Can't wait to leave this place.

Anyways, definitely love to drive it to compare, but being the Internet for obvious reasons I'm hesitant on that. It's tempting. Plus, I'm not sure if we've crossed paths in the EV threads and on what terms. They're deleted to where I can't check if we could be cool around each other or if we've tangoed before.

But, seriously, all joking aside, I appreciate it. I'll remember the car. Might run into you, if you go, to any of the car meetups in Houston or Sugar Land or TX2K when it rolls around again.

I've heard the ride is good with the MRC on the 1LE, and like mine you can stiffen it up with the modes. I know Tour is where I sit at 99.999 percent of the time. Track beats me up, Sport is better, but I got spoiled on the smooth ride. It's a great chassis on the 6th gens, no matter the trim level.

But for sure it's way better on both cars on ride comfort than a ZL1 1LE. I saw a YouTube video a while back, and that thing was like a washing machine. It was crazy.

It's a fine daily for sure. We have almost 11k miles on ours now. I'd still rather have a 1LE though.
