Recently completed some testing Goliath pump Q and A

Been really busy not much time to post, I found a few minutes to share this

We are really pleased with the results of our testing especially knowing it has more head room than we needed for this build.

875 RWHP on E 80s

The video explains a lot please feel free to ask questions.

Sorry if it was covered in the video, but what lowside was on the car?

So with a lowside, Goliath hpfp, and +30 injectors it made 875rwhp on 15.6 pounds, and handled e80. Pretty impressive!

You said injectors were close, but I didn't quite catch the EOI, thought I heard 150*?

DSX aux was on the car when the customer bought it.

Never talked about EOI, I did talk about Injection pump duration though Still under 90 degrees.

From the calibration I see it was 38 which was in the car when the customer bought it.

1. Ted... How the hell do you look younger in this video, than the videos from a few years ago? How is that possible???
2. Great numbers on this build!
3. Sounds like you went from 815 to 875 from the 30+ & Goliath? If so... How much of that number do you attribute to the Golaith considering the car already had a 38% Cam Lobe?

Keep up the good work!

When you put on weight it fills in the wrinkles

The fuel system allowed us to go to a larger lower pulley which is responsible for the extra power.

Without fuel you can't make power or support more boost.

I don't attribute any of the power gains from the fuel system parts.

The parts support the higher boost and more E.

I hope that clears things up.

Ted.

What fuel pressure did you target? Since the Goliath debut I’ve been tempted to try the XDi’s as they seem to hold more pressure now that we have a hpfp that can supply it. Have FIC/big bore combo now.

We target 2600 psi since that is the limit of the 30% over injectors.

The Goliath is capable of 350 bar (5076 psi) and handling 8 mm of stroke so when the injectors get better able to handle more pressure we can move higher and gain more flow.

I believe 8mm of stroke is considered a 40% over the LT1 5.7mm lobe.

So theoretically with the xdi's you'd gain even more headroom as they're advertised to be stable up to 3200 psi I think it is? Piggybacking off XXX ZL1's comment.

I do not know we can get to 3200 psi with any of the % over injectors I have been as high as 2800 with XDI 65% overs.

The older XDI +30's will do 2900 psi with no issue. I believe the newer XDI +30 and +50 are now rated for 3200psi max. The XDI +65's(discontinued) are rated to 2600psi. Never tried higher because the LPE HPFP couldn't keep up. The newer +70's are rated for 2800psi. XDI basically raised the ceiling 2-300psi for all of their injector offerings.

FIC +30 are hit and miss if you try to run them at 2900psi, they seem to have less issue around 2600psi or lower.

None of this mattered much in the past with the LPE BB HPFP because it doesn't seem to like running much more than 25-2600psi. Now that the Goliath pump is available, I would get the XDI and run LT4 pressure(2900psi) to start.

Goliath and XDI 50's should prove to be a great setup!. Factory LT4 pressure Should get us 950-1000 wheel on E60 ish.
