I DD a 1LE for three years and it was perfect. I don't have kids nor need to haul anything, and I swapped Summer and Winter tires as seasons changed. It was never hard to live with.

At the end of the day, you have to look at your needs and price range. For me when I was buying new, I had actually considered a 1LE. Eventually though, I decided it would just be a $7,000 appearance package. I never go to the track, and drive maybe 1,500 miles a year at best. The regular SS suspension and brakes are more than adequate for going to a Sunday morning car show. I've pushed the car on the backroads and again, never had a problem. Any more I'd be going jail. So for me, the package just didn't make sense financially because it would never be put to use like it should be.
But yes, with the proper tires, either could be a great daily that will make your commute a joy. The only reason I don't is because of snow and salt in the winter, and I like to have the extra space and visibility of my SUV going to work. I feel much more comfortable parking it as well.

Same reason here. And just my personal opinion, but I don't like the spoiler on the 1LE and think the 1SS and 2SS's spoilers look better. Not a fan of the front splitter either or matt black hood. But I'm probably in the minority. And I don't like the styling of the ZL1 either. But I would love that motor. It's a beast. I'm looking to get a mild cam, tune, and a supercharger somewhere down the line after buying another house, and I'll be set.

The 1LE has enough rubber for the power. It's the ZL1 minus the engine, same chassis tune.

In an effort to pickup a few mph, I have removed the aero from my 1LE, other than the front splitter.

A bad "send." The OP is talking about the "harshness" of the ride of a 1LE and the seats, when there's an option to get practically the same vehicle for thousands less with a better ride. In straight line performance they're the same, and the only benefit of the 1LE is if you like the looks, the handling that's more track focused, and having the top trim of the SS before the ZR1 floats your boat.
Seeing as this is a Camaro forum, it's the perfect place for said "discussion," seeing as there's 1LE owners and SS owners, non-MRC and MRC cars, who could provide some help and feedback. I mean, it's not like he's posting about a Dark Horse compared to the standard GT and its ride characteristics in here.
