Yes, skip the 1LE package if it’s solely a daily.

There will be differing opinions here but personally I don’t think the 6th gen Camaro in general is a good daily. Visibility is fine but the backseats are unusable, the trunk opening is not optimal, and most of all, there is no storage space in the cabin. A water bottle, phone, wallet, and keys will basically max out all the room there is for stuff.

Hmm, a daily isn't necessarily a family car, one could easily be fine with a Camaro as a daily driver. I used it to commute before I went fully remote at my job.

The trunk is spacious despite the small opening, the back seats aren't needed unless you want to transport 2 or more people and can easily be repurposed as storage. WIth higher trim levels (3LT, 2SS, ZL1) the cabin is very comfortable with a good set of convenience and safety features (heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, dual zone A/C, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear radar, electronic rearview mirror, 3 seat memory slots with fob matched auto recall, wireless charging, wireless AA / CarPlay, remote start with A/C precool/preheat if one gets the auto). I added phone nets and a trunk organizer for a bit more storage, and the rear seat folds down for longer items from Lowe's or Home Depot.

Now, is it SUV or Camry level comfortable, of course not, but "not a good daily" is an exaggeration, especially when someone enjoys driving and wants a great car as a daily, not a boring appliance. Again, if "daily" also means transporting a family, then I wouldn't use a Camaro either or any coupe for that matter (say, Challenger), climbing into the rear seats gets really old really quick even when there is enough legroom and headroom back there.

My car isn't a 1LE, but it does have magnetic ride control, and what most people say about this suspension is that the 1LE's tour mode is roughly equivalent to the SS sport mode, which, if true, means it's absolutely fine. Not the smoothest imaginable ride, but it won't beat you up at all, even my wife doesn't mind that I drive in sport mode 90% of the time. I'd definitely get MRC if I wanted this car to be a daily. Final point, I assumed "1LE" in OP's post meant the SS 1LE and not the ZL1 1LE whose suspension is absolutely not what one would want in a daily.

The SS 1LE and a ZL1 1LE are completely different animals, if you're referring to a 1SS/2SS 1LE it's a great car for anything. The ZL1 1LE's suspension will rattle your fillings loose but will be an animal on track. My M6 1LE has never seen a track but has 40K of spirited back roads to work and back, the mag suspension is magic on the road.

I had a 2016 LGX 2RS and now 2024 2SS1LE and the ride was not that much different with mag ride on the 1LE. The camaro is not a family car and never has been.

I daily drove my 1le for 5 years with no issues , other than getting new tires that handled rain better. The suspension was great and I liked the recaro seats. The trunk opening isn’t big but there’s a lot of room there.

A 1LE is not really that much different than a regular SS in terms of drivability. The magnetic ride suspension that comes as part of the 1LE package is wonderful. For a 2 door sports coupe/sports car it rides great in Touring mode. Even if you don't intend to track the car the 1LE package includes so many performance upgrades that makes it a blast to drive on the street. It really is the best bang for the buck in the Camaro lineup. And the Recaro seats are awesome.

I would say the two things that many would argue don't make it a the best daily driver are the wider wheels (20x10 front and 20x11 rear) and the Goodyear F1 Supercar tires. With the front wheels being so wide they are more subject to tramlining on worn roads. The Goodyears are not runflats and they wear fast (because they are soft and sticky) and they are not very good in the rain. Of course when you wear them out you could switch the tires to something like PS4S. But those two issues would be the only real drivability issues versus a regular SS.

As others have said the Gen6 Camaro is no SUV. But if you are okay with daily driving a regular SS a 1LE isn't going to be much different and will give you more performance.

As others have stated, the main downside as daily would be the OEM tires. They have poor wet/cold performance and very low wear, and are expensive. My next set will be a Continental all seasons rated for 50k. I "friday" commute my 1LE without issue, but we rarely get any snow here. Look at what you get for the additional $7k, it's a lot, and many are things I've gone to great trouble and expense to upgrade on my own with other cars in the past, namely brakes, external cooling, and suspension.

I will always have a chip on my shoulder about paying for leather with the 2SS and then paying full freight AGAIN only to have it yanked out for the 1LE Recaros, but whatever....

A ss 1le can absolutely be used as a daily as long as it fits your needs. I did it for close to 2 years. Having said that, my opinion is a Camaro is a great 2nd car/toy. When I bought the one I had it needed tires so I asked the dealer to install all season tires based on others comments I read before purchasing. 1le sized tires are are more expensive than a standard ss size. I drove in tour mode 98% of the time for 2 reasons, I wasn’t driving aggressively most of the time and to keep the exhaust tips cleaner.

If I was at a different phase in my life, I would have kept the car, but needs outweighed the wants.

subjective.

i have a 23 brz as a daily now, perfect car for those duties imho. despite being 1000 lb lighter and 75% the physical size of a camaro, it somehow has more room, is more comfortable and ergonomic.

i would never have any 6g camaro as a daily, just as id never have a brz for a fun car. an ss 1LE can be easily a daily, they are not racecars.

i owned an 18 ss 1LE for 4 years/40k miles. not a daily and no rain/winter use. to say i drove it a lot in fair weather is an understatement.

Oh yeah, the tires I forgot to mention. Whether or not 1LE, the first move after buying an SS for daily duties is to dump the factory tires and get some nice Continental ExtremeContact or Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, all-season variants for up north and the extreme performance summer (non-runflat!!) variant for the south where there is no real winter as these are practically 3-season tires with amazing performance and comfort properties.

The runflats on the stock SS are absolutely terrible in every way except maybe dry traction on picture perfect roads and weather. The semi-racing stock tires on the 1LE are also not dailyable because of their abysmal hydroplaning resistance, plus they don't last too long either.
