SOI/EOI Validation/Verification (false RICH condition) - thoughts?

I've been working with a "new" method, for adding PI, with someone else and just wanted to validate/verify that my thought process is correct. This method is not mine, so I don't want to share too much, unless I need to for context, so I'm sorry if this comes off too vague. This method helps to control the DI fueling (when adding PI), and I'm scrubbing through data and wanted to make sure I'm safe with fueling. With the talk of false-RICH conditions when injection events are too far out of boundaries, I just wanted to make sure I'm safe. Hopefully I can articulate what I'm thinking effectively...

Would it be safe to say that if my SCANNER shows an SOI around 370* (stock LT4 cam), I'm NOT spraying through an open exhaust valve, causing a false RICH condition? I'm certain I'm not spraying into COMPRESSION, because I'm more than 180* on EOI. SOI/EOI calculators (and posts) show that I shouldn't be out of bounds (though I'll grant I'm close for SOI - I might back this off some if I get further along with this testing) for either of these injection events, so I'm just hoping someone with experience can confirm that I'm okay.

I'm seeing some big IPW/RAIL PRESSURE spikes/drops (9.5ms/8MPa @ 3100 RPMs, respectively) when going WOT at low RPMs (e.g. 2000 RPMs), but as RPMs increase, I start getting to where I want to be, and see full commanded RAIL PRESSURE and IPWs well before redline (after around 5000 RPMs, I'm at 5.5ms and 20MPa and at 6000, I'm at 20MPa and 5.0ms). I know Josh' or King' or Megahurtz has said at lower RPMs, the engine isn't running fast enough to pump the HPFP to maintain high pressure, but it isn't too critical because (if I recall) there is enough time (at a lower RPM) that IPWs can go a little higher, and RAIL PRESSURE lower than you'd want to see at WOT/redline. I'm seeing a rich condition around in this low RPM band (where the IPW/RAIL PRESSURES are spiking/dropping, respectively), and see the PI controller pulling fuel already, and while I can't understand why it's so far off, right now, during this testing, I just want to make sure it's safe. I feel like the MAF curve was good, but I'm keeping an open mind to anything. The controller is correcting A LOT less closer to redline, so I was wondering if I was getting a false rich condition. It could be in the controller calculations, but I don't know for certain, and just want to be safe. I've ripped all of the alcohol timing out of the car for safety, so I have that little net to try to catch me.

SO - I'm just looking to see if anyone could confirm that my RICH condition is actually correct, and that I can use my SOI/EOI channels, for this instance, to kind of be my sanity check. It's my understanding that at these conditions, I'm not spraying into the compression stroke or open exhaust valve, so if I see a RICH condition, it's probably rich, and I need to be looking into trimming fuel.
