1LT Stingray insurance v 2SS Camaro

Just thought I would ask this question to you guys since it’s a weekend but how much more significant would it be to ensure a base model stingray that’s brand new versus my 2024 2SS Camaro? I just turned 50 and have never had any accidents or traffic violations in the past 20 years, excellent credit and I own my own home. Thank you.

honestly, your best bet is to go online, use a random VIN for both vehicles and get a quote....will save time and accurate as well.

just get some quotes from other ins companies then call your current one and let them know which brand is cheaper... usually they will match it.

This is what I do.

But IIRC the Corvette is one of the national highest to insure.

Don't tell the insurance company that. My dad went on a 150,000 mile stint in 1 year without accidents or traffic issues, and his insurance cancelled him because they said it was statistically impossible for my dad to do that.

So he had to lie about how much he drove just to get insurance.

Also Vette will be more expensive, higher risk higher value higher insurance. I pay about $200/month atm from AAA.

I'm more than a decade older but otherwise match your demographic and I'm paying less than $76 a month for my '17 SS for full coverage thru AAA in UT. Kinda surprised me too! That's how I know they aren't looking at any On Star (never activated it as far as I know), because if they did, I'd be out! LOL
This will the last time I refer to this in public.
You know the Vette gonna be significantly more. If not let me know!

It varies from state to state and the variables that go into determining rates can also change. When I bought my car (2017 Fifty SS) I also looked at ZL1, C7 Grand Sport, and C7 Stingray. The most expensive to insure? ZL1. Buy a lot. My insurance would have been higher than my car note. This was consistent across three insurance companies. The insurance agent explained to me that the difference in quotes between the ZL1 and the other 3 was the hp difference and the presence of a supercharger. The SS, Stingray, and GS were all within spitting distance of each other and I honestly can’t remember what the rank order was. Just remember that ZL1 rate was obscene.

For what it’s worth, I live in the state with the highest insurance rates in the country, and in the city with the highest insurance rates in the state, so there’s that.

I was surprised that my insurance cost went very low when I traded my '14 Camaro ZL1 for a '14 Corvette Stingray 3LT Z51, both AT.

I guess it was because HP related, 580 HP VS 460 HP.
