Your z l1 wheels, offset and width are equal to my wheels , offset and 3mm spacer. My Marc’s needed the strut mod, basically notching the tube flanges where the knuckles is. With that I run -2.8 camber and still have 3/16” clearance wheel to strut. Your non mrc struts maybe the same shape as mrc in the knuckle flange area

Are you stock suspension aside from the grinding of the strut?
