87MM is the same size as stock... What are you trying to accomplish? The LT5 throttle body is 95MM and cheaper.

Waste of money. LT5 or NW 103 if your manifold opening is big enough to support it.

I’m guessing their “porting” is just for looks and they do some kind of electronic trickery to open the throttle more than stock. I’ll see how it goes. I also have some “idle relearn” tool that is supposed to speed up relearning a new TB

Doesn't say anything about it being ported -over- 87mm. The fact that it's a new casting and listed as 87mm says it all, they could have cast a 93mm or 95mm or 103mm. They cast a 87mm.

The fact that they claim their fancy cast creates a "vortex effect like a supercharger" is the signal to run far away from their product as fast as possible. The second is their "updated electronics" which simply translates into cross your fingers the car will re-learned throttle positions. There's no trickery they could do with gearing that wouldn't screw up the throttle tables, any kind of re-gearing the strays away from OE is going to require a tune.

If you want better throttle response without touching the throttle body, try the Pedal Commander. It works and does exactly what it states and doesn't dink with your tune. But for the record, all it's really doing is opening up the throttle body with a more aggressive curve, a tune could do the same thing. The biggest advantage to the commander, however, would be that you can switch throttle curves on the fly between "Eco, Street, Race" for example.

I agree with King, but will add, IMHO send it back post haste, get on RockAuto and order yourself a LT5 95mm and grab an adapter from Soler. OR Port match your intake inlet. Either way, the LT5 would be an upgrade and give you nothing less than improved throttle response.

Installed. Also found a good product from Dorman to relearn the idle.
The throttle body does seem to improve throttle response. Throttle feels more linear, where the factory throttle body felt like it was holding back.

Well, it definitely does.. something. I can’t see myself doing much more in terms of engine mods. It already makes more power than a fully built 383 from the 90s
