Help- add an amplified subwoofer to stock non-Bose system
searched, didn't find anything (maybe point me in the right direction if i missed it).
want to add an amplified sub unit (10/12) to my stock 7" 1LT stereo. loud enough, just looking for some extra thump... no 6x9's in the back to tap into and the rear panel speakers have that weak signal crap so that's not an option (right?). so, is it possible to "tap" into the pass door speaker instead? anyone tried this? got some install quotes from local stereo shops and its creeping into the thousands. yikes. any insight or alternate suggestions would be appreciated, thanks. |

Yes, you can intercept the signals to the front speakers in the kick panel or at the radio. Be careful with the harness at the radio as the high-speed data bus pins are sensitive. Simply splicing into the speaker wires before they enter the door pathway is the easiest method.
See attached for a wiring diagram.
