A dab of Master Formula Metal Gloss on a piece of 0000 steel wool has worked wonders on the stainless bits on my motorcycles for decades and now for the last 10 years on my Camaro exhaust tips.

What would be the best way to remove these scratches? Mine looked like that after the 1st cleaning. I had used a wet microfiber cloth to remove the soot and then used a metal polish on a microfiber to make it shiny but mine still looks like the ones from this photo.

Great tips on the tips gentlemen........... They'll be dirty again in a day, but I can sleep a little better now.

That White Diamond Polish I posted earlier will take a lot of the scratches off. I use a microfiber cloth to apply and buff it by hand till its nice and black and then wipe off with a clean real microfiber cloth to finish the "buffing". That polish works exceptional on my polished lips of the rims on my Trans Am too.

That should work, but if you use a tool like this, you can more easily cover every angle. Again, this isn't for every day, I try to prevent scratches rather than polish them off, because that removes material and there's only so much coating to work with.

There is another option at the end of the day: leaving the tips matte black from soot , or even painting them matte black. (I did that with the big suitcase muffler, and it looks much better.)

Hahaha........ about ready to do that with my wheels, brake dust matte black has a good look to it.
