I’ve received two. Both had a lot of questions about EVs and high end SUVs. Told them what I thought of both. Not interested.

They send that survey but 95% could be against EV's and going up the chain they won't care or shove it off because that's not what they want to hear.

That's a very cynical view. Marketing research is usually done to determine either what customers want or how they perceive test advertising. It usually costs $$$ to conduct, so companies don't normally do it if they aren't going to listen to the findings.

This survey is probably designed to find out not just the demand (or lack thereof for EV), but the specific driving reasons behind it and how strong those feelings are (can they be swayed or not).

Our demographic (sports/performance car buyer) is definitely in the minority of American viewpoints, so our survey answers likely will be drowned out anyway by the masses of people that just use a vehicle as basic transportation device. Handling feel, stopping distances, engine sound, etc are not on today's "every-day driver" radar screen.

The questions were steered in the direction of replacing my 2020 Blazer. What vehicles would I be looking at, ICE, EV, or hybrid. Having received these type before I knew that if I shut the door on an EV I would quickly be finished the survey and I wanted to make it to the end. Apparently I don't care about the planet. I'm also still waiting for my $20 Amazon gift card.

The opposite of printing. It's deflationary.

In reality works like this.

Engineering: Look for facts and draw a conclusion.
Marketing: Draw a conclusion and look for facts to support it.

I haven't seen that one, yet. I got one from email survey JD Power a few weeks ago about my car but it was really dominated by tire questions which I thought was odd.

Had you filled it out, they'd probably start sending you more with even more cash. I did that once on some cable lineup survey and they sent a dollar. Next time they sent $40 with another survey. It was a long survey that they asked me to fill out over several weeks.

Food for thought: That one question, "The U.S. is too dependent on oil from other countries?"

Fun Fact: 70% of the oil imported into the U.S. comes from 2 countries. Canada, and Mexico. Mean while Premium is $5.30/gallon here.

Also that last question: "Fossil Fuels cause global warming?"

Fun Fact: Back in the 1960's a hydrogen engine was, designed, built, prototyped, and ran flawlessly with 0 harmful emissions. That design was buried by Argonne National Labs.

Some of you really don’t understand what a survey is for do you?

Of course GM wants to hear from you. If you sent out a survey to everyone that voted for Trump in the last election asking yes or no would you vote for Trump again, that would be a wasted survey.

Also note the survey allows answers to probably 5 levels of agree to disagree. So it’s unclear to me how A) anyone thinks they don’t want to hear from you or B) the survey is somehow pushing EVs.

It’s a survey of most likely current customers checking their beliefs and opinions (sorry that is TRUTH LOL) on EVs and the environmental impact. Read the questions posted. A simple opinion survey and it immediately turns into the anti EV crap that doesn’t allow us to keep a simple discussion thread going.

Simple survey and GM is not avoiding anyone because they may have a negative opinion on EVs. They want the opinions or they wouldn’t ask. It came to a Camaro buyer for crying out loud.

Dude. Prove to me Queen Mary and her woke sycophants don’t literally throw out every single response that tells them “I want a gasoline-only, internal combustion engine that’s not some puny 1.8 liter turbo 4 but a big, real, V6 or V8 with no turbos, hybrids, or electric crap”.

I’ll wait.

LOL if they send me one. They'll be told that I'll never buy another GM vehicle because the Acadia is 4 cyl only now and nothing else they build, ESPECIALLY, their electric garbage, interests me. My in laws own a GM dealership and not even that is enough anymore!

I’ve filled out these type of surveys before for GM. Once you answer that you aren’t interested in purchasing an EV the survey ends. This time I tempered my responses to get to the end.

That’s what I thought, we have a blazer too but were sent to me as a Camaro owner.

Yep you are correct it ends the survey the second you reply that you’re not interested in EV and you think America isn’t dependent enough on oil.
