SS LE Front Splitter

Hello,

Stupidity happened and I may need a new front splitter. I'm seeing prices range from $70 to $600, and I just want OEM fit, with OEM look.

Any suggestions?

Not planning on installing it myself.

Too bad you don't live closer. I have a GM unpainted 1LE with all the hardware I have been trying to get rid of for months. Don't want to ship. Look at some of the Facebook 6Th Gen for sale groups.

ACS, EOS, ebay, take your pick. Some are just an upper shell aka brittle as shit. Better ones are hollow abs.

I've seen them go as cheap as $50, but I'm a bit weary because of fitment. Last thing I want is to pay for something I can't use.

If you have any recommendations lmk.

Yes, you are correct about parts being "half a shell" now and days. I got the SS 1LE lower front fascia extension from RPI Designs and it was made that way. Thankfully, It's not flimsy or brittle because it's made out of pretty thick fiberglass. It's a very well made part and the fit and finish are prefect. They claim they can paint it for you, but it's a 2 month turnaround time? I had mine painted at a local body shop. You don't notice it not having a finished bottom unless you get down on your stomach to look underneath it. It does bother the hell out of me knowing it's basically a half of a part though. My biggest concern is for people that want to add that additional lower front splitter underneath it. You would need really tall spacers to bolt it underneath to compensate for hollowed out shell. I guess it's not that big of a deal.

I tried various front splitters, they all had a hollow bottom except for the OEM 1LE part. However, that unfortunately costs upwards of $500 these days.

I bought it cheaper back in the day and attached rubber scrape guards to its underside to extend its lifespan, assuming of course that I won't hit a tall curb (then again, I back the car in 99.9% of the time, as one should).
