Hey GM, here’s another opportunity to follow the other OEMs!

Hey GM, as more and more of our cars are stolen, and thousands of posts on forums, facebook, and other sites explode on the issue, we remain confused by the utter silence and inaction by you. GM leadership has long made it clear they lack the initiative or the creativity to lead the industry on virtually anything so I thought I’d help out by showing you one more area where you could follow your peers by creating and installing a software patch that would lock down the ability to duplicate a key and start the vehicle from the OBD port.

For my fellow Camaro enthusiasts, I kindly request you post pictures of your stolen or attempted stolen Camaro in this thread as a demonstration of this widespread issue!

“Hyundai Vice President Dave VandeLinde told FOX Business that they have already equipped 1.6 million customers with the software upgrades needed to prevent them from easily being stolen. While they are 60% through, VaneLinde says there's still a lot more work that needs to be done.”

1) GM doesn’t make a Camaro anymore and could care less.
2) Most of these idiots that get their cars ripped off park them outside at night and/or in parking garages and leave them unattended in parking lots- what do expect to happen.
3) Garage mod is your friend.

To say it's dumb and their fault for leaving the car outside is being ignorant. Some people don't have garages, sometimes you take a road trip and have to park somewhere. Sometimes you gotta go get groceries, pay bills, etc. Sometimes people air bnb, visit relatives, etc. Telling people it's their fault that their cars are getting stolen because they dont have a garage is not fair. Granted, there are other things the person could do to prevent theft they could've been done, but tons if people leave their cars outside. We're all not blessed to rent/own a house. My car got broken into with valet parking last year and they stole my stereo, radar detector, and other tings, police couldn't do anything. I'm actually driving to Cali next week, and I have no garage to park in... Best believe I'm pulling some relays when I park lol, Heck, might even pull out the battery

"leave them unattended in parking lots"

I guess I've been using parking lots wrong. Instead of leaving my car and going in the grocery store I guess I should pay someone passing by to buy my groceries so I don't have to take my eyes off the car for even a second.

Don’t want to be a statistic? Get a second car for road and mall trips. Get a garage and a spare car and you will almost never have an issue.
I’ve never understood the car before the house/garage mentality but there are so many thing I don’t understand today.

Of course! The store employee might even give my Camaro a cookie.

I definitely bought my Camaro to be too terrified to drive it.

Hmm, I never thought about taking my 09 Toyota to the track instead of my camaro when I have to get a hotel and stay over night. This is genius, I’m going to have a blast in my fwd toyota on track! I should probably just get rid of my camaro based on this guys logic.

Private Garages aren’t a benefit at my job. It’s my daily so it’s out there 10 hours a day.

OR, people could simply license to conceal carry and be allowed to stop thieves with deadly force!
