It was a loud little bugger. lol. Its waste gate actually sounded pretty cool though. Yeah 400 whp on that little thing easily walks a stock 6 gen SS. |

You got that right ! 455hp these days is entry level stuff. Along with the usual suspects of Hellcat's, Shelby's, Vette's and various German offerings, I've also recently been humbled by a 6500# 4x4 truck, 40 year old rust bucket of a Honda Civic, and Mustang Mach E to name a few. Something has to give here !

Do you feel 565whp is enough for most random street encounters ? In theory of course. lol |

If you want to save some $$ and can be completely, brutally honest with yourself, come up with the final power number that you'd be satisfied with, the tradeoffs that you are willing to endure (for example, anything above 650-ish rwhp means no launch from a dig on the street using normal tires, you have to use compromised drag radials), then buy once, cry once. (That is not the example I'm setting, haha, but I did find out in the end how much power I really need, and my car has just that.)

My better judgement tells me to wait a year or two as well, mainly due to having a 24 and not wanting to void my warranty with only 2k miles on the car, but I don't know if I can hold on that long. lol |

Better to wait, get all the info you can from those here and take your time just buying the pieces you need over those two years. That way when the time comes you have them all and are really just paying for the labor and dyno in one swoop. Plus helps keep you covered on your warranty should anything go wrong before hand.

The biggest problem with pump gas is what I mentioned in my first post. You will have a big drop in performance from a cool (90-110 MAT) to a hot (140-160 MAT). On pump gas a solid 3-5 degrees of timing will need to be pulled vs on Ethanol you can run the same timing across that entire temp threshold. Procharged cars with no Alky will hit 150 degrees at the top of a pull even on low boost in the summer. I can show you the data logs to prove it. It will make the 550whp easy when cold, but once warm its going to drop significantly. Most of your dyno charts you see posted will be a cold pull. Are you going to make a pull, then go cool the car down for a half hour and repeat the process? Or do you want the power to always represent what the Dyno graph shows?
Pump gas is not enough octane for this motor @ stock compression with boost. There is a reason why the LT4 is 1.5 points lower in compression vs the LT1. I won't even remote tune a SBE LT1 on boost and I own one. I have had a Whipple 2.9 on my car since 2019. The reason why it's still alive is because I have run it on Ethanol since I bought it. Anytime someone reaches out about tuning a stock fuel system pump gas setup, I send them down the road. 22 years ago I bought a P1sc kit for my 4th gen Z28. I bought into the can tune, stock fueling BS. Get what happened? I was putting a new short block in it after 6 months. 22 years later the same companies preach the same incorrect shit. The reason being people are more inclined to buy the blower setup if it requires nothing else. Soon as you start talking fuel systems and better octane, people get cold feet.

If you run full E, at 7psi, is a LT4 fuel system upgrade still necessary ?
