If you really can’t find E85 then meth is probably your next best bet.

E85 is really scarce in my area. Closest station is 30 miles away. I wanted to add a Magnuson 2650 and headers to my car. Guess I will rethink doing anything to it.

What about Torco? I'd rather put that in my gas tank every fill up than rely on the meth to hit when it's supposed to.

If you used meth/alky like it was originally intended to be used then it's a non issue. You simply setup the IAT spark table to add timing @ X temp where the meth would cool the air temps too. And if it failed to activate, the timing would remain at a conservative level.
Where folks run into trouble is relying on it for supplemental fueling...if it fails to activate then you go lean, and then... Boom.

Nope. He'd be lucky to get $30k for his 2017 2SS, then has to turn around and buy a ZL1 that is at least $60k. The successful trade ship sailed quite some time ago on this one.

This is very true. One of the reasons I have not done it yet. I’m not interested in a ZL1 with high mileage just to make it affordable to me. I’ll keep my special ordered 2,500 mile SS and mod it.

You hit what I was going to say right on the head. Getting one with low milage in my price range, on a trade, near impossible let alone finding one for sale in my area. At least with my ss, I can pace out and not rush or over spend. I can buy a mod here and there, take the time getting everything I need and save up and then get it all done at my pace with no rush or worry.

Yes, a ZL1 is a stronger foundation, but nothing like having a build that is exactly how you would've configured the car had GM allowed you to, and of course any extra power is a great amplifier for the smiles per gallon "metric"

And there is no "rush". It's at my pace and I don't need to worry about if the car, is even available to buy. I have it, I can then get it to how I want without worry if it will even be option. Plus I like projects that keep me busy and teach me something new.
