Odd photo request. Under trunk mat.
Hi folks. I was not a Camaro owner for about a day or two as my car was stolen and recovered within a day and a half with minimal damage. I was going over it with the insurance appraiser, and was having a look in the trunk. It seems like something might be missing in the trunk, under the floor cover, but I do not remember what (if anything) is supposed to be under there.
Might anyone have a picture of what's under the flip up floor covering in the trunk on a 1SS, no MRC? I don't remember if there was some sort of foam for holding tools/jack, or whatever, or if there is just the metal and some electronics. If there was supposed to be something, I'd like to get it replaced while the car is at the dealership for repairs. The floor mat was disturbed, and other small items left in the car were gone. I'd just hate to find out later that I'd missed something once the open claim is over. Thanks much! |

GM put runflats on the car so you don't need a spare tire or tools. Pic from my LT1.

Excellent. Thanks very much! I thought there was a foam insert and a tow hook back there, and there does seem to be. I'll go ahead and get that added to the list.
Once again, thanks all, and I'll be looking forward to getting back in the car, and will be getting some more anti-theft stuff installed directly after. |

Agreed that the SS should include the tow hook. I don't think the "refresh" cars with the LT front fascia came with a tow hook, because there is no access to the receiver through the redesigned front end. My '21 LT did not come with a tow hook.

I'm envious of the space you have to the left. Where are the RPO codes located now if they aren't on the foam?

The build sheet has all the RPOs with their full descriptions (see the top of mine attached), but, from what I heard, GM stopped responding to email requests for the build sheet 1-2 year after discontinuing the trunk label in 2018.
Your remaining options are the door jamb QR code mentioned above (but that's incomplete), the window sticker (but that doesn't show RPO codes and is also incomplete), or finding another way to obtain the build sheet, perhaps through someone on the inside (but that's fairly difficult unless you already know someone). Assuming that I didn't miss any new customer service announcement from GM about this, of course it's not a big deal per se, of course nothing happens if someone can't get ahold of all their factory production options assembled into their Camaro. However, small details like this are pretty good indicators of how much a company cares about their customers. What could that razor thin RPO sticker in the trunk cost, $0.50 or $1, if that, what was to be gained by eliminating it, then no longer even allowing people to request a build sheet via email? Petty, if you ask me...

vehicleinvoice@gmmediaarchive.com If you have a 2020+ car then you can get a slightly longer RPO list from the PDF window sticker through GM’s API but the build sheet is king. The PDF window sticker has the RPO’s and info hidden at the top of the file, if you ctrl+a and paste in a notepad it’ll be the very last lines. Can try with my window sticker in my signature or replace my VIN in the URL with another 2020+ model
