Rear Spoiler Confusion

Hey There
I have been looking to either paint or change my existing rear spoiler on my ZL1 Convertible.
It being a convertible I really do not want the ZL1/1LE tall rear spoiler unless they had a shorter version with a camera option but they don't.
So I am having to keep it stock.
When I look at my stock spoiler there are 2 wires one at each end and of course the camera cable in the middle.

When looking at spoilers even GM it doesn't show the antenna wires on both ends. Does anyone know the part number for a new GM spoiler for my car as it would be easier to buy a new one and have it painted then trying to try to paint my old one.

Also what does the sharkfin on my trunk lid do if there is an antenna in the spoiler ?

That spoiler would look good black. Maybe same gloss or flat as the front splitter. Sorry, can't help you with your antenna question.

I don't know anything about the convertibles, but looking at your rear spoiler, to me it doesn't look like a standard ZL1 spoiler (which is wider and deeper), that looks like a standard SS spoiler to me... Does the convertible ZL1 get the standard SS convertible spoiler? (I'm guessing due to the limited number of SS and ZL1 convertibles built they went with a single spoiler with the camera in the middle stanchion?)

I agree with the others, pull it off and have it wraped in gloss black...

my goal is to do black however the camera and the antenna was throwing me off. I have 2 cameras one back camera up by the license plate and the rear view mirror camera on the spoiler.

I didn't want to go through the trouble of wrapping or painting the one on the car because of cost. buying a new one is actually cheaper

Are you sure???

I would think wrapping your current spoiler would be WAY cheaper than buying an entirely new spoiler (which contains an expensive camera and wiring)... I can't imaging wrapping it would be more than $150-$200 at most...

But what is the REAL condition of the "used" eBay spoiler??? To me, I'd spend the extra $100 to wrap my own spoiler and be done with it...

You own a Convertible ZL1 ($75k+ vehicle), if an extra $100 is out of your budget, you DEFINITELY can NOT afford this car, you are going to have MUCH more expensive things in your future that are going to need tending to that you can't/definitely shouldn't skimp on...

No offense... Just being real about things... I'm a bit over $54k in on my 2SS with all the add-ons and aftermarket stuff and I don't think twice about something that is $400 or $500... If $100 extra on your ZL1 Convertible is a concern, you have much bigger concerns to be concerned about... Just sain'...

The convertible ZL1 unfortunately doesn’t get the ZL1 spoiler, just the SS spoiler. Probably to save money not having to make another spoiler and just slap on the SS convertible spoiler instead of making a version of the ZL1 spoiler with the antennas inside. The camera in the spoiler is a convertible only thing (for 2019 all models including coupes that came with the camera were in the spoiler, 2020+ changed it to the sharkfin for non-convertibles).

The antenna is the same but I believe coupe’s have the FM antenna integrated into the rear glass so it’s moved to the spoiler for convertibles

NOT Offeneded at all !!
Its not really about budget, but any savings is nice! Wrapping to me would be generic solution for the spoiler and I don't really like the seam that will be there. They say you wont really see the seam it but I know it there.

I would be very careful about buying a used one off eBay. Most come off of salvaged cars. Not saying there’s not a nice one to be had but really look hard at the pictures, ask the questions of condition and as silly as it sounds the mileage from the car it was on. Exterior parts no matter usually show the age of the mileage of the car. I’ve gotten some nice used parts off eBay but have also gotten parts that I thought were nice used parts from the picture only to find out that something was broken, scratched or damaged.

Thanks, that's what I figured, for the small number of ZL1 convertibles, they weren't going to spend the extra to design and build a separate spoiler...
