Splitter and Spoiler. Gloss or Satin???

So i've got a Hyper Blue 2016 SS. (need to update my signature pic!) Stock appearing, as it comes. Looking to install aftermarket 1LE spoiler and splitter. The Next Gen spoiler that covers the stock SS spoiler holes is only currently available in gloss, due to shortages. I'm handy with a paint gun, so no biggie. Ordered the RPI front splitter in primer, save a few bucks and paint 'em both satin. Well the spoiler arrived yesterday, in gloss.....and ya know.....it looks pretty good. Doesn't have to match any satin black hood or mirrors, as I'm NOT going that route. -and all the OTHER black parts, hood vents, rear valence etc. etc, are of course gloss already.

As this is hardly a technical question, I'm curious what thoughts you guys have on the subject. ...and does anyone have pictures of either the front splitter or rear spoiler in gloss? Try as I might, can't find any.

FWIW, even if I keep it gloss, I'll still likely re-clear it when I paint the front, just so they match. The Next Gen finish is...."fine". No blemishes, but I can do better.

I'd leave it gloss.

My suggestion is the same: definitely leave it gloss (unless you also want satin side skirts and rear valance) to achieve a consistent bottom perimeter.

Jamala00 - That looks great! -though I don't have black wheels, but still. I think you guys have convinced me to leave it gloss.

I prefer the satin look. Gloss gets beat up too easily. This pic is before I installed the MRR 1LE reps

Here's a matte finish.

Did matte to match the grill and rear valance (which I believe are unpainted?). However If I had the gloss black rear valance then I probably would've gone with gloss to keep it all consistent.

First, I don't disagree. I may PPF the splitter, assuming I go gloss, which is the plan. Also, I think gloss shows chips more, but doesn't look as dingy over time as the satin does. Easily to "spruce up", at least in my experience. Either way, not hard to take off and repaint every few years if necessary. More concerned about getting the finish right, and less about upkeep. -but you're not wrong.

-Sharp lookin' car BTW. Love the Sharkskin.

There's no wrong or right here, just what appeals most to you. I know that whatever you decide will look great. Nothing looks as sexy as an SS, enjoy the ride

Thanks for the compliment. Post some pics for the class

Looks very good Not a fan of the valance opening hugging the exhaust tips personally (so I got myself an aftermarket diffuser iwth fins instead), but the overall look is great. Much more serious than stock.

(Now all you need is wider wheels and tires... )

The carbon flash looks great! -Your whole car looks great, but hard NOT to with the Wild Cherry!

....just an update, I did ultimately choose gloss black. Spoiler is on, but but the installing the front splitter has been delayed due to buying/selling our house!

I think both satin and gloss would be good, but I prefer matching the front bumper spoiler and rear trunk spoiler (e.g., 1LE). That said, p47dman's car, pictured above, would be an exception (in my eyes) because it looks great and still has an overall good continuity (plus CFM looks great against WCT).

My car has a gloss (1LE) trunk spoiler in CFM; although, I don't have great pics of it, see here: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=627876.

I picked up an OEM '16-18 1LE front bumper spoiler (in primer) because I prefer it's look on the LT front fascia. I'm getting it painted CFM to match my rear spoiler.

However, the satin finish will likely be lower maintenance, and might stay looking good for a longer period of time.
