Power seat dont move foward and backward

Today both of my seats do not move forward or backward. all other functions work. Any idea what it could be? Look at the fuses and they are in good condition. When I press the button I hear a noise inside the dashboard but nothing.

You hear a noise inside the dashboard? What about the motors under the seat, are they trying to move?

useless

Take it to GM they will replace a fuse 3x until they realize it's time to start replacing parts, they will start with the motor tray, we will c how far that gets them, then they will have no choice but to move to the wiring harness.. Unless both actuators blew on the side, which i doubt. Then you have to ask yourself what would make both of them blow?

Hope ur stuff gets fixed.

This is why most modern mechanics suck. No troubleshooting skills.

Before they do anything they should simply unplug the harness from the seat and meter the pins. There should be constant 12v on the leads designated for power. I’m am certain the service manual will give the exact pins that should have 12v power at all times.

If your power is where it should be at all points the obvious answer is that there’s a problem with the seat switches or motors. If not, you go back to the manual and look to where the other end of the harness is connect to and start looking for power there. And so forth, until you find the points between which you have power and you lose it.

Like a now famous YouTuber Dave in Utah who runs what might be the best engine and machine shop in America says: hunt with a rifle, not a shotgun.

You probably have a broken track. About a $1k fix at dealer for one seat. I had to fix mine a couple years ago.

Mine was a similar issue.
