Anyone familiar with the Igla alarm? I see it has been mentioned on the site.

People use it, it apparently works. Since you're in Dallas, I'd highly recommend you never leave your Camaro out in public. For reference, my LT1 was stolen, found and they basically let the thief off with a slap on the wrist. Pathetic DA they have up there.

No need to be rude and disrespectful. Enjoy the read that was captured from a five second search. Entitled mentality is contagious these days.

Suggestions: If it's parked outdoors, turn off remote locking, lock manually, use anti-theft lugs, consider a steering wheel bar, use a locator, and take out the FP relay or other critical relay. But if a professional wants it bad enough they'll tow it.

Did your 5 second search inform you as to whether or not the Igla was still compatible with the remote start? How about any OBD-II inspection issues?

I posted "I see it has been mentioned on the site." yet the keyboard warriors are too eager to type their pompous responses instead of realizing...yeah, I did do a search first.

Just do a web search with Camaro6 at the end, the search function on this site is absolutely useless

Did you swap the 5th gen for the 6th? The best theft deterant was the 5th gen.

Remote start still operates as normal with IGLA whether using a Key Fob or the App.

As far as OBD-II inspection:

Do you mean does the port work?
Then yes in the default configuration the port operates as normal.

If you mean will if a scanner will see anything different during an inspection, then no it shouldn't(don't have state inspection) and was just in the dealer and they didn't mention seeing any issues.

The IGLA is basically invisible, it is at least to my scan tool.

However if the IGLA protects the vehicle, there is usually some CELs generated, and on one occasion got a vehicle health report from the MyChevy app that there was a third party device along with a bunch of diagnostic errors.

This isn't totally unexpected, as not sure exactly how the IGLA protects the car. but depending whether it is in start inhibit or stall the engine mode, I infer it is injecting various messages on the CANBUS that makes the ECU/ECM think there are major issues with the vehicle so that it won't run/start.

After clearing the codes, it's like nothing ever happened

Never had a 5th gen, didn't like the interior.
But I did grab one of the 1st available 6th gens.

Thank you!!
All good information and a minor inconvenience to insure the car is difficult to steal!

Are thieves aware of the igla system? Do they provide stickers saying igla equipped? What I mean is if you place a small sticker on the driver door window will they just walk away and not try to steal it. A broken window and damage occurred when a frustrated thief retaliates his anger on the car can be a considerable cost. I understand you can never predict what a thief will do but damage to a painted panel even after a repair will never be the same. if he see's IGLA equipped hopefully he will walk away and not damage the car.
