Skip the 2.3 pulley, it will just make you heat soak more. Instead, get a FlexFuel sensor and run a 30-40% mixture. Headers will open it up a lot more if you add that to the list. Check my signature, I have similar mods and made 731WHP on a stock size pulley.

Research a bit more before doing those exact mods! I did the Kong X-port and a 2.3" Griptec. I quickly found out after doing so, I didn't have enough fuel system. I was running E60 prior to those mods and my car felt crazy strong. Then, after the X-Port and the 2.3" pulley, my car felt good low end, but then around 5300rpm. I was dropping fuel pressure up to 400psi to 600psi from command. The car feel flat, it was out of fuel top end. So, we had to pull the E mix back, way back. At E15 it was still running out of fuel around 5900rpm and the car made 649rwhp / 534rwtq on the Dyno. I then sent my car to Katech and they upgraded the fuel system, added Port Injection and added a 9.45" lower and a few other misc. items. It's now making 784rwhp / 627rwtq on the Dyno. As in Rapid_blue_zl1_22 signature, he shows he also added the Katech Duel Fuel Pump upgrade. Also, don't be surprised if you do X-port and see a lower than expected torque number. It's just the nature of the X-port. You might want to consider Kong's regular porting option and as mentioned skip the 2.3" upper. Add a DSX Flex Fuel sensor, DSX aux pump or JMS Voltage Booster and run E60 and love how your car drives !!!
Here is my build threat if you can lean something - Great! https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=611982

Common build and I tune a lot of these. Just the above mods will be in the 660ish rwhp range give or take depending on the dyno and how much timing it will take. Without headers, you will have a hard time keeping any timing in it so you will want Flex Fuel if you have any pumps near you. You can run E30 with these mods, if your low side keeps up, which will give you a bump in octane and let you keep some timing in it. As a similar comparison, I just tuned a C7 Z06 with X port, 103mm Soler TB, stock pulley, 2 inch headers and E40. Car put down 715rwhp and ran low 10's. Then changed to a 2.3 upper, meth and E55 and the car ran 9.9x @ 143x at the track last weekend.

I ran E85 in my SS build, it was awesome, but it is so hard to get up here I was going to stick to pump gas. I really didnt want to put headers on. Will the cooler temps up here help a little with heat soak? We dont get a lot of 90 degree days LOL. I can skip the 2.3 pulley, but I just thought if the blower would be off anyway it would be an easy upgrade.

That's curious because my hpfp, on my previous and current motor, can make at least 1000 wheel on 100 octane. Perhaps I'm not following...

On race gas lol… huge difference in fuel system headroom between E and race gas. Probably on the order of 40%.

Not to squat on OP's thread, so with a 103 TB, X-port, 2.3 upper, Flex Fuel sensor (E60 at the time), stock fuel system and stock fuel pump (except for a JMS Voltage), 2" headers, misc other mods. My fuel pressure PSI 400psi to 600psi lower than command at top end and power just went flat. Maybe I just had a bad stock fuel tank pump?

Stock cam and E is hard pressed to make more than 650-670rwhp with the E content being E30 or less on a non happy Dyno using SAE correction. |

You dont need a Big Gulp with those mods, more airflow than your motor can use efficiently. A regular Rotofab would work better.

If you do an X port you really should at least add a 2.35-2.38 upper pulley, but optimally the 2.3 upper is the sweet spot where it makes up for the low rpm sluggish feel in lower gears and then really pushes some air up to redline. But you also need to be able to get some E in the car to really push the power so you have to address the fuel system. The expensive path, but clean and reliable path is upgrading the DI system or adding port. For some real world examples, my MANUAL transmission Z06 was flirting with the 5's on a 60-130 draggy with just the below mods. And I had to start in 3rd which wasn't optimal as I was on stock tires. Rotofab big bulp, Soler 107mm TB, Kong X port, 2.31 upper, LPE BB HPFP, DSX Aux, XDI30% injectors, E65, 1 7/8 headers and the car ran a 6.0x 60-130 draggy. I'm going to be doing the same mods to my ZL1 but the ZL1 is heavier although it has the 10 speed auto. I've already got the ZL1 in the 6.90's with the following mods: Big Gulp, Soler 103mm TB, 1 7/8 headers, Kong X port, 2.3 upper, JMS on E30. I'm waiting on the new Katech hpfp to drop in with XDI 30's to see what I can do. I was going to test port but DSX is taking too long and were going to save the DSX port testing for the 3.0 Whipple ZL1 we are working on. Anyhow, both of these cars draggy times are on STOCK tires. So with a better tire I expect the times to drop. Quote:
You can't run E60 with those mods. E30-35 is about the max the stock HPFP will support at this point and pressure will start dropping fast. Power probably fell flat because you were pushing the limits spraying too far into the compression stroke. You would have been OK on E30 and a tune that addresses the spray window.
