CEL Frustration

Hi Camaro6 family, I need some help. Twice in the past 2 weeks I got CEL and these codes: P0700, P10E1, P1682, P2096, and P129D. I suspected battery, so it put on my CTek. I noticed however, it took longer than usual for the charging cycle to complete.

Afterwards, CEL went off. After another short trip put on charger and again it took longer than usual to complete the cycle. Had the battery testes at an auto parts store. Conclusion battery test bad.

Took the car to the dealer (28 miles away). They performed a full diagnostics but found nothing wrong. Oh yeah, they told me to let them drive it for a day. I guess that is supposed to help them resolve the issue.

Any ideas?

Any other GM dealers closer? I understand the warranty aspect of a battery in a 23, you might have to eat the cost...these cars seem to be very sensitive to a battery problem and through goofy codes because of it.

If it continues, if I can't get the dealer to move on a new battery, I'll just have to eat the cost like you said.

Today I drove her and no codes. We'll see what happens over the next few days.

Check battery connections.
Look for water intrusion in the trunk and underhood electric boxes.

Good suggestions but Carmen only sees water when I bathe her. Everything is bone dry.

Drove nearly 40 miles RT today and no CEL. Next week I'll take time and clean the battery terminals. At last check they seem fine but still worth a try IMO.
