Yep. A few studies on it. One from Brian Tooley on an LT motor not too long ago. Lost like 60hp just by changing from DI to PI at around 750 hp. Airmass went down, too- so the fuel was taking up valuable air volume.

Vote me for another person who is against running meth. Too much chance of a failure during spirited running. Run E and you will love the power output results from it. Fuel economy will take a hit but it's worth it considering how much more power you can get out of it vs. 91/93 pump fuel. I'm really happy with what I'm making and all it took for me was a JMS, stock style LT5 cam with a 32% high side fuel lobe a 12% pulley and optimized tuning to get to the power level I'm at. Hell of a street setup and still will pass emissions, plus it can run the "stock" tune if it ever needs to.

Just chiming in... I originally was considering a Stage 4 or even the Stage 5 type package like Katech offers. So fuel system upgrade, DI upgrade, CAM, heads the works. But, I was really wanting to do what I could to maximize my ZL1's potential with out opening the motor. So, for sure there are multiple ways to skin a cat and even get better results in the end. I took the PI route as it was fitting my build needs at the time. I am look to do what's need to take my build to a complete a Stage 4 or Stage 5 with a 2650 this fall. Just want to see how much I enjoy the ZL1 as is for the rest of the summer!
