You cannot be too careful with these seats. I bought this one year old car with just 6,3xx miles and the bolsters look like they were gnawed by an animal. Already starting to fray at the stitching.

I’ve come to realize that these seats, with there bolsters, you have to
Lift yourself up while your seating, to avoid the bolster nearest the
Door, you have to avoid bolster nearest door upon entry and exit!

Does the 1LE have the same red stitching, or is something different than regular ZL1? When I check the numbers on the GM parts site in Canada, where I usually order stuff for pickup at my local dealership, it shows it’s not compatible for my car. Just wanted to double check.

1LE has the standard stitching, not red.

Although I think it's impossible to stop the wear, especially on the left side of the lower seat cushion, I think we can at least minimize it by changing the way we sit in the seat.

I know it's a hassle, but it is what it is. If you like most people simply plop yourself down leaving your legs on the ground and then rotate yourself into the seat, you place a lot of stress on the left side of the bottom cushion.

If you instead put your right leg in first and then kind of sit down in the cushion and then bring your left leg in, you can minimize the rotation and the wear on the seat cushion.

I know it's a PIA, but it's either that or risking wearing out the seat cushion. Also, covering the seat cushion with a towel or something else can minimize the abrasion and wear.

With a seat design like this, I don't know if there is a good way to enter the vehicle, but I still try to minimize the damage as much as possible.

Make sure you use the auto exit/entry feature that moves the seat back. That way when you get in, you can swing yourself around the side bolster and not slide down it into the seat. Thats where the wear comes from. I was able to preserve my last ZL1's drivers seat bolster by not sliding on it or down it as I got into the car. It takes a bit of care as you get in, but its worth it.

Depends if you are talking about a ZL1 1LE or SS 1LE. ZL1 1LE has red stitching like the regular ZL1. SS 1LE has white stitching.

Ok thanks, so ZL1 and ZL1-1LE both have the red stitching.

I received these earlier today from the place I buy a lot of parts from. These are for a convertible the seat bottoms look to be the same for coupe but the top fronts are different because of the airbags.
Here are the part numbers. Only the drivers side top is available at this time the rest are on national back order.
84862716 Driver seat back cover, jet black in color.
84213655 Driver seat cushion cover, jet black in color.
84862658 Passenger seat back cover, jet black in color.
85165322 Airbag front passenger presence module, includes the seat cushion cover (not offered separately), jet black in color,
