Turbo Boost Controller question

Hey guys, I am beginning my twin turbo install finally and was wondering if anyone can give me some insight on Boost controllers.

1. Which one are you using and why did you choose that one?

2. Which one should I stay away from and why?

I'm not going for full on race car, it will be a summer driver so I'd like to be able to drive around with a low boost and if needed bump it up for some fun or drop it down if I get stuck in the rain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Boost controllers like anything can be simple or rather sophisticated. If you are adding port injection, the toohighpsi port controller's built in boost controller works decent using boost pressure and stacking it on top of the wastegate to keep them closed longer. I used it for awhile until I reached a point of not being able to turn it up any further. I have since switched to an ams 1000 I stole off my broke drag bike. The ams is great in that you can program launch boost and do boost over time. Its more of a drag race specific setup though and uses onboard air to keep the wastegates closed rather than boost.

I have used the simple AEM TruBoost (2 settings and scramble) then the Cortex (6 program settings, boost by gear, speed, RPM or time, scramble, PWM controller that I used for meth or could use for fuel pumps). The AEM was simple enough to push buttons to change setting parameters. The Cortex required plugging the USB into a laptop - but, the ability to tweak settings was insane. Changing programs on either was just a few button presses. Considering what you're planning, simple could work fine. If you're planning on bigger things for the car, something like the Cortex. Plenty of folks run the Boost Leash, G-Force ones too. Depending on what your desired boost level and range, choose a 3 or 4-port solenoid specifically.

You will likely need to modify the stock PCV system with check valves, as the stock SS motor will not be prepared to deal with boost pressure in the crankcase.

Yes I am going with the TooHighPSI port injection, I was trying to hold out for the DSX but they can't give me any sort of answer on what is happening or if will ever be available so I'm done waiting for them, and I haven't checked on TooHigh for a while and didn't know they added that feature.

I like the ease of use of the AIM but I've never really been a big fan of AEM products how they look. I know i should be more worried about how they work than how they look but I do have to look at it all the time. And I looked up the Cortex and I like that it's able to treak so much.

With that being said I was looking at the EBoost2 from TurboSmart only because I have TurboSmart BOV and wastegates but didn't like the price tag at all. Boost leash I wasn't happy with price as well Gforce was nice just wasn't sure about the Square shape for how I would mount it.

Just wondering what people think about the EBoost and EBoost2?

Yea it wasn't something they advertised as much because most people run a blower but researching it, it was a really simple to set up with a mac valve and works well. If you're not looking for crazy specific control I wouldn't even look much further. In my experience, the less boxes you have to get to work together the better. I've been keeping an eye on the dsx setup to possibly jump to it at some point and the last thing I saw a week or so ago from them was a late summer release plan.

Yea I was messaging someone from there last week and he couldn't tell me anything and was really short with answers and seemed like I was bothering him. I was trying to get info about the port injection controller and also info on if they have any idea about the new fuel pump controls working with the SS.
