Looking at the Detroit Speed/JRI offerings they actually recommend a brace kit that goes in the trunk when going to their coil over system:

The nice thing about the Fortune Autos is that they will customize the spring rates and valving to your preference. I think its more for when converting to a true coilover in the rear like the JRI or MCS, but still a good upgrade to have regardless of which coilovers you get. |

Fortune 510s will fit ZLE's. The only reason they put (Excluding ZLE) is that their Fortune Rear Spring is not a direct fit, you have to opt for the Swift Springs.
There are a few ZLE owners with Fortune 510s. They love it it to bits on and off track.

I love the ZLE suspension my only worry about it is that the shocks do not seem to be serviceable.

I forgot a friend has these JRZ coilovers for sale, used in his '16 SS, car is a trailered ESP AutoX car. He upgraded to MCS 3-ways. You'd probably want softer springs but that's not a big deal and his price is about half of new.

I just called and talked to tech support at Fortune Auto, they are unaware that this would work. They said the problem is the spring hits the rear perch. Nothing more they could add.

Just replace the front springs and then dampers all around (keeping the rear springs intact) and you will have a a much better experience. There is another ZLE owner on the forum that changed to FA510s while keeping the stock rear springs intact. His experience is nothing short of excellent on and off track. See link to thread: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=611950 For the price and quality, hard to beat FA510s.

Well after reading through this thread carefully again and talking with some of the vendors near my price point I decided to go with the MCS TT1 single adjustable coil overs built by Vorshlag. Jason, the lead engineer there listened to what I was looking for (better ride on the street with the occasional trip to the track) and after discussing single vs double adjustable and different spring packages I went with this package and the GT package springs (600lb Hypercoil front and rear). I already have a set of their camber plates not being used so they can modify those slightly to work with this kit. This should meet my goals and still perform well. I’ll give an update in a few weeks once they are built, shipped and installed.
Thanks to everyone who provided information on this, I’m sure it will be valuable to others as well. |
